CFL Setup for a 4'x4'x6' tent?

I'm sorry but you just can not make that statement. There are way too many variables that you left out and you are not even sddressing the OP requirements. 600w HPS in a 4x4 tent Heat is always an issue.

would i start that vent run outside of the tent or just use the air inside of the tent? like i said my house is rather cool. 70-73 degrees usually during the day, 70-68 at night.

I didnt mean it buy a 600w in a 4x4 heat is never an issue but i know people who have had a 600w in a 4x4 and had no problems, they even had a set up much stated almost identical to the one i said and heat was fine

I'm with Bonzai...If you're just doing this for personal use and just as a hobby, I'd try my hand at CFL's first as well...Though I must admit I was looking at 250 and 400 watt HID setups yesterday...about 200 bucks at my hydro shop for a 400w switchable reflector, they were selling this one...

...Only a couple bucks extra for the air-cooled fittings, glass, hangers, and bulbs. But CFL's are nice, no ballasts, no REAL heat issues, just plug and play. They just have shitty light penetration. Hope you find something that works out for you!

Stick with CFLs man, or a 250 HPS Max you'll be able to manage that much better... at the end of the day its down to you but you'd feel gutted if you went 600 or Even 400 HPS and temps are to intense ..out of interest what kind of reflector do you plan to use and would noise be an issue for you ? - STELTHY

well im leaning more towards a Lumatek 400w HPS/Mh Ballast with a 6" cooled reflector for 245 without bulbs which i will get closer to starting. still waiting for my girls to arrive. tent will be here tomorrow. Just called my local Hydro store and got a good price on a hood and ballast so i'll save a load on shipping. will probably go pick it up next week sometime.
