Is semi gloss super white paint better than flat white?

Someone had told me that i can only use flat white too pait my walls in my grow room, is this true? I wanted too paint my wall ultra white semi gloss, would this work better since its brighter and and leaves a smooth shinny finnish?

no, the flat white helps diffuse the light better as its not as directly reflective, also the gloss or semi gloss will be an oil based paint and will give fumes off when exposed to the constant heat of the lights, and it'll smell pretty bad. bathroom or kitchen flat white paint( we call it emulsion in the u.k) will be better becoz it is tougher and usually has anti fungicidal properties that reduce mold growth.

you can use semi gloss but you wont get as much light reflection as you would with just flat paint and semi gloss paint is a bit more to purchase. Just use flat white and make sure you put 2 or 3 coats of it and youll be fine and works better than semi too.

damn i already painted it with semi gloss enamel paint, should i go and buy some flat white and pait over the semi gloss? how big of a difference is it between semi gloss and flat enamel?

flat white is the way to go and it makes no difference if you like airy small buds.

with flat white i have read that you have too add a fungicide too the paint so it wont build mildew. Is this true and if so what kinda fungicidal treatment do i add?

Use flat white paint. Gloss/Semi-Gloss aren't the ticket.

Yes and no. If you keep your grow room clean and give the walls a wipe down before and after each round you'll be fine. There are actually mold/fugus/moisture resistant paints out there. A bit more expensive, but it's not like you have to paint an entire house with it.
