Hi I'm a bit confused here. I hear you're supposed to flush with 3x the volume of soil but at the same time I hear people saying not to over-water. So a few questions about flushing in soil

When you flush, do you treat it as a watering and then let the soil dry out or do you keep flushing everyday until harvest (cause ive heard someone say to flush daily for 10 days)

Second, when you start flushing, do you no longer give it nutrients for the rest of the plant life?

Third, do you need to pH balance the water you flush with? (because I assume you're trying to stop letting the plant uptake nutrients anyways)

overwatering is when you dont allow your soil to dry enough between waterings. any excess water will simply drain out, i heavily water everytime as do alot of the other experienced growers on here. wait till the soil is dry. You can give them some unsulphured blackstrap mollasses during the flush period. Also 2 weeks is a bit early imo, a week is plenty if your doing a 3x water through soil and then no more nutes other than your blackstrap mollasses. Yes ph the water.

First overwatering happens when u water too much daily an don't let the soil dry. Flush one time and let your soil dry then give ur girls only pure water that's if ur on the flush b4 harvest the purpose of a flush is to get the salts and deposits left behind by the nutez to wash away and leave your plant I flush 2 weekz b4 harvest and feed only water. I also flush every other week threw out veg and the rest of flowering. The proper flush is to pour water in the pot of dirt till it runs out the wholes in the bottum let the soil dry and resume ur feeding rutien hope that helpz kid

Our plants are not hurt by flushing. The idea here is to think of it as rinsing, not flushing. Nutes build up in the soil as you drag through flowering mode.
Then we rinse the roots prior to harvest to keep the nute buildup from affecting the taste of the bud. FLUSHING EVERY DAY FOR 10 DAYS IS NUTS.
That is overwatering at it's worse. Means the roots will not be able to get enough oxygen for the entire flushing process. Roots can take a day or 2
submerged, but after that you get all kinds of problems. NOTE: I think the 3X rule is overkill. I use 3 gallons of water to flush my 3 gallon pots. Works for me.

Hey, I think you are getting the flush, mixed up with leaching, the flush that everyone says you have to do for the last week is just watering with water an no nutes, LEACHING is done once before you start flower ,or once during veg, or if your soil ph gets outta whack. When ever you feel the soil could need it,,and that envoles 3 times the amount of water to soil and is then watered with dilute nites..
. I dont 'flush' as have final Flush formula.
Yes to no nutes during the flush, . Flush with just water so the plant isnt uptaking anything but water,,. Thats my advice, hope it helps,,
Take it easy

Sorry, you may call that flushing, but that,'I also flush every other week threw out veg and the rest of flowering' is leaching. By defination, and this is why people are gettin confused between LEACHING and FLUSHING. Yes you flush the soil with water, but that is leaching the soil, flushing is the term used for the final weeks using just water...
get it right before you confuse the poor guy even more.

its not like the terms are exclusive or something......I've been doing this a long time and flushing works fine for what you do to prevent salt buildups or fix ph problems or overfertilization problems.

I never said you had to get the terms right. Or that they where exclusive, dont know where you got that idea, I said nothing like that, Im saying that you are confusing people. HENCE why they started this thread,, saying flush could over water,,,
And alot of peeps are stupid. Fact.
and if you have been doing this for such a long time you should know that people starting out may get confused.
Thats the point I was trying to get accross.
Its not just for the sake of calling it right, its so people dont get confused.
