Using Rooting Hormone before potting

I'm getting ready to start my 3rd run and will start with clones rooted in rockwool cubes purchased from my local dispensary. I have noticed that on my previous two runs, my ladies have shown little or no growth for the first 5-7 days after potting in soil. I would assume this is when it is establishing roots.

I'm getting ready to start trying my hand with cloning because I believe it will be more cost efficient(I pay $10 per clone), but even more importantly, I'm interested in it because my Grandma used to be able to take cuttings from almost any plant and had an 80-90% success rate without rooting hormone. She always said you have to study a plant to decide when she is ready, cut in the right spot in the right manner, and give lots of TLC. Personally, I've NEVER been able to start a healthy plant of any kind off a cutting but I've never used hormone.

I guess my question is two pronged:

1) Which rooting hormone do you guys and gals prefer.

2) Would it be beneficial to use the hormone on my clones when I pot them? They always have a healthy root structure to start, but I was wondering about giving them a boost in that first week.

1. Clonex Gel. Has worked well for me for over 20 years.

2. No. However, an application of mycorrhizae would do wonders for your plant. I use MycoGrow soluble mycorrhizae from Fungi Perfecti. ~$8/oz delivered and will treat 150-250 plants.

Thank you for the info Wet! +REP I should be buying some within the next couple of days.

As for the mycorrhizae, I knew there HAD to be something I could do to reduce that down time. I greatly appreciate it and will be using both for my next grow. I told my wife that I would get rose cuttings from my mom and start them as practice. Now she can't wait for me to get the supplies. I have an area set up for mother and clones, but I still need to get the starter box with the clear dome lid to keep in the humidity.

I just get the clear shoeboxes at the $ store and clips there also. 1 box upside down is your dome. I usually don't use a dome or, lose it after a couple of days.

Awesome! I have been getting as much of my stuff as I can @ the $ store and Walmart. A 10 year old son makes for a tight budget, but we've already realized savings from my first harvest.

Clonex is excellent. I like the lil rapid rooter plugs, I use em in the lil 6 pack trays. Then transplant into 1 gal pots for pre-veg.
