Is It Female?

the parts in your pic look like stipules the parts in this pic labelled x i could be wrong just what it looks like from here an i am sure you know happing growing an hope it is a beautiful blooming girl

Its been in 18/6 this whole time too. There's been a huge increase in growth the past week so I had my hopes up. Could still end up a girl maybe, its certainly not overly tall so who knows.

I may be wrong but it's not going to sex until you put it in 12/12.

What you are looking at is the small leaves from the shoots that are going to grow out from the base of the fan leaves.

so strain dependent. My last crop two plants shot up way more than others, like twice the size under same conditions. Not super bushy, but strong and vigorous. They were both female. Keep looking for hairs, it looks like it easily could sprout up pre-flowers (if it hasn't already, but they certainly aren't visible in that particular pic). If you post again, see if your camera has a macro feature, use tweezers, or twist ties (or something similar) to hold the stalk, and take a super close up of just the node. A better pic would be easier to identify for sure :)

yeah thats what they appear to be turning into at this point. just got a little ahead of myself given this influx of growth.

i am curious though as to why topping is recommended so much. my plant is branching out at nearly exponential rate (still slow due to growth time but each node is branching into 1-2 node that then also branches again).

is this normal?
