Transplanting - Disturbing Root Mass

What is the general consenus on transplanting marijuana indoors. Do you leave the roots as is? Or do you pop it out and break up the root mass before droping it in the new container? Do you disturb the root mass at all ?

if the plant is pot bound, i always just pull it a little, but try not to lose any roots at all, just if you pot on, let the soil dry out before you repot, so it comes out in 1.
i start in bedding pots then try to pot into there final pots after that, but if you can its best to plant in only 1 pot if you can.
dont touch it if you dont have to, just drop it into the new pot if poss.

Final answer. Roots will not be affected in a "pot shape" - but breaking it up could result in damaged roots and increased stress. Just water before you transplant, and water again when done, tryihng not to touch the roots or break up the "pot shape" - no pun intended.
