Plants are very tiny, help please! *Pics added*

Hey guys. I planted my germinated seeds on July 1 and had sprouts from both plants on July 3rd. Here we are 10 days later and my plants are only about 1 - 1 1/2" tall. I've seen some of these pics on here of 14 day old plants that are 6"+ tall. What am I doing wrong? I've got 4 26w 6500k bulbs and 1 26w 2700k bulb. Bulbs are about 3-4" from the plants. They are in Miracle Grow Organic Choice soil mixed with Perlite. When I first started the temps were in the high 80's. I've now got them a little more under control and staying 80-82 when lights are on. I've got them on 18/6. Only water about every 2-3 days whenever the soil gets dry. I feel like I've followed everything I've read to the T but I can't figure out why they are so small. Otherwise, they look healthy. Any ideas?

I'm charging my camera battery and will post up a few pics when it's charged here shortly.

They aren't quite as yellow as the pics portray, they are light green.

I've honestly waited until the soil is dry. Like the cup is very light feeling. I'll try and let it go a little longer before watering it again.

It's my first grow so I am up for trying anything.

My seedlings at 13 days ranged from 1.5 " to 3" tall, so I wouldn't be too worried. As soon as the roots develop fully, it will explode in growth. Also looks like you have a sativa dominant strain there, imho.

Be patient once you get roots established it will take off. My bublicious looked like that for a couple weeks. What kind of lighting do you have and how close are they?

sorry somehow i skipped the lighting sentence. Lighting good i would drop a little you can get them pretty close. All good just be patient

hey man i posted on ur second post but yupyupuhhhh, had a good point get those lights as close as you can until you see it start to pick up in growth then imo id raise the lights just about 2"-3" let them start streching a little and youll see some serious growth in the next week. also you have them red cups, did you poke drain holes in the bottom of those? you dont want root rot. check the roots. *edit* you dont want to dig in the dirt just do as you would to transplant them and if you cant see the roots then you tried stick it back into the cups and wait a week** you might even want to transplant soon that will help in growth as well but just dont have it go into a 5 gal pot yet... get the vegg growth started nicely then move ur way up..

also man remember.. its a plant its just like a baby it takes time to grow and you need to make sure you are there to water her and feed her and also check their diper. . lol but make sure your always keeping an eye on them like in the morning and at night. to make sure if there is a problem you can fix it asap. and try foliar feeding my new sprouts love it. do it right before the lights go out tho so there are no burn spots ( the water drops act like a magnify glass)

Thanks for the replys guys. One of the plants has gotten a little bigger yesterday. The other looks about the same. But at least I am making SOME progress.

Kushissweet...Believe me, I check it all the time. It's like having a newborn baby. lol

I agree that root lock is a possibility. You are using Miracle Grow Organic Choice soil, Miracle grow is not a good choice of soil. Even the organic choice from what I understand there are nutes in the soil.

If I am wrong and you do not have a root lock going on. I suggest you obtain a rooting compound. Something like bcuzz root these things help explode those roots so the plants grow stronger quicker.

So should I change my soil to Fox Farms? Is it too late to change soils? Would it help me? There's a place I can get it about 35 mins away from here.

the leaf tips aren't burning i think you will be ok ,you may do more damage changing soil and set your grow back or damage it all together

well, either way.. your plants' aren't going to be all that great anyhow.

your plants, once they actually start to go rootbound.. like going crazy with root development.. they're going to need to be put into actual growing pots.. not freaking party cups.

I know, I know.. I've seen more than one "party cup" grow on here.... but none of them.. except maybe one of them.. IMO.. was even worth looking at. Your not going to get much growth.. because the roots really don't have alot of room to grow...

once again.. "The more and bigger the roots and root system is.. the bigger the plant will get... and the bigger the buds will be in the end."

but, when the root system has such limited space.. they can't expand and grow like they want to.. and should be able to do.. because there's so much limited space.. for them to grow in. period.

anyhow, good luck either way my friend.. your gonna need it. ;)
peace.

What if I were to use Fox Farms when I transplant them into the bigger containers? Would that be worth it, or should I just stick to what I've started with?

I know what strain it is, it's Blue Mystic from Nirvana.

There's your problem. There's enough people on this forum who have had problems growing that stuff that I will never grow it. Anything that is a "blue" strain is usually very difficult to grow. If your ph is too low or high it will lock out nutrients real easy. It's not an e z grow imho. Get some NL #5 or some super skunk, nice n easy to grow.
