I actually lived in Berkeley for a year so have a very high opinion of Californians!

Not a lot of people know this, but Berkeley isn't really part of California... it's a fascist little republic unto itself, unlike any other part of california (unless you count Davis, which makes Germany in the 30's look like modern day Amsterdam.)

i drive down from north of there now (did 10 years in the east bay). as soon as i hit berkley it smells like death and low tide. i never noticed until i moved then came back to visit. now i wonder why anyone would choose to live among rats and pigeons in a big city. there is so much open space out there.

Used to be cool when there were 40,000 people and the Mob ran the town, Now all run by greedy corporations and 2 million + live here, about 1/4 illegal Mexicanos. The traffic is nightmarish and all the assholes from California have moved here bringing all their bad traits . I Am looking for a way out, but Have to stay till my wife is 65 as she needs medical and the plan we have is only good in Nevada!

i go out there more than i go home now its a nice Little LA east. thats what my travel agent calls it. west side of town looks like a fukin home & garden magazine same with the the green whatever where tyson satyed before. i lived there like a year and a half ago. it was fun for for like 6 months than i wanted to kill myself all the stupid ppl moving there. i could never believe the abundance of idiots in thelast five years, when i was a kid in northtown it was nice.

no offense but there were any worse cops in the world they are in Iraq on vacation from the LVMPD.

Absolutely untrue. The plan that would have allowed me to leave the state would have cost $1400.00 a month, as opposed to what I could afford, $250.00 a month, Remember I am covered by both Medicare and VA, so the coverage is basically for my wife who won't turn 65 and be eligible for medicare for 7 more years, yeah I had a choice, one I couldn't afford! That's why we need Single payer medical coverage in this country!!!!
