to put it simply, no it will not be sufficient to grow cannibus in this way. I have tried using cardboard, it always buckles and breaks by the end of the grow, every time. A lava lamp bulb barely puts out 200 lumens. you need at least 5,000 lumens if not more. Also without a fan your plant will not even grow well. Air needs to continue moving through your grow room.

no stopping you go buy a ten dollar fan. Reinforce the cardboard. Dont let your animals climb it. Go down to home depot and buy some light sockets for like 1.20 a piece and get some loose plugs. Im no electrician and i know u prolly arent. This was not hard you unscrew the plug and put the two wires into each screw. THen you have a 2 dollar outlet. Get like 3-5 of these and put some 100 watt cfls in it. THis whole setup would cost u less than 50 bucks its really worth it. If you steal the bulbs from school or random bathrooms it can be cheaper. I wouldnt suggest being a hooligan tho lol.
fans are to noisy and i cant fit more lights in it
Lava lamp bulbs get way to hot! You will burn the box down and mabye your house. Just get a cfl if you insist on growing like that, or talk to the kid on here growing with his iPod backlight. Of course there's always the great outdoors if you don't have space or cash.

lol i got a tiny fan from wal mart that didnt even have sound. i mean are you in your dorm room or your moms attic or something?
Edit: Also its annoying when someone asks for advice then does it anyway. LOL dont ask for advice if you already know what your gonna do.

Hippie tried to tell you..goodluck with you 1/2 grAm of fluff bud if (by some small miracle) you make it to harvest..think about it though possible prison time(or juvy and prison for your parents, as you sound like a teenager trying to grow in his closet..)however unlikely being caught is..it still doesn't make much sence to put freedom at risk for a dub sack.

your going to be dissapointed if you dont listen to people when they say you need continous air flow . Plus your going to use a lot of electric . Why dont you read , revise , study , Get all your equipment together then come back and ask for advice then ...
I have a friend who once he seen my set up he went ahead like you with only a lamp , that is all he had and i got really pissed off with him as i was always telling him about air movement , ie , fans , but he went ahead and done 2 plants and he was really dissapointed with his results after about 7 weeks and he ended up just chopping his 2 plants down and also he was out of pocket by about £130..... There is many factors with growing cannabis and having JUST a lamp will not grow good weed . On the cardboard side ,, YES you would be ok but make sure that you have a really big box as the heat off lamps will buckle the box in .. I know a friend up in Scotland who grows in her basement inside a cardboard box , saying that she taped a few boxes together , so as she had like a 6x6 room . If you going to go ahead with the box idea then dont forget to still paint the inside of the box MATT WHITE .

Strait up, trust me with the cardboard, I did it before and HATED IT. I will NEVER use cardboard again. I ended up taking the plant out of it and putting it in the closet every day. U also will need the box to be open it cant just be closed off or it will die.

Yes you can use cardboard . Dont be stupid ,,, as long as the box is big enough and doubled up then there shouldnt be no buckling of the cardboard ...

im talking from experience. I used the biggest box I could buy from the moving place. IT was a PERFECT box. Everything makes it buckle, and oncce it does it doesnt stop. IT killed 3 of my females and made one a hermie. I got one good female with less than a gram of bud. WORTHLESS imo. Not only that i was using 6 100watt cfls they didnt put off heat. After it buckled i bought some wood to reinforce it. That made it worse DONT DO THAT IF YOUR BOX BUCKLES GET A NEW ONE.

If you carnt fit anymore lighting in your area then i would give up growing cos you gonna burn your house down with a lava lamp ... Why not pay someone to grow YOUR weed in THEIR house .... That would be good advice from ME to YOU LOL
