im thinking ov building my own bubbleponics system and need to b cleared up on one thing...
do u leave the roots groow into to water and leave them there constantly and keep the water level the same? i this is correct wont the plant b overwaterd and suffer from root rot.. im just a lil confused can any 1 clear that up thanx...
Yes you leave the roots constantly in the water. I run a 10 bucket RDWC, and while in flower I leave the buckets half full, in veg I keep the water about 1" from the bottom of the net pot (like cyborg said). The plants don't get overwatered, or root rot (if you do it right, keep the temps right, etc etc etc... If you do it wrong you will get root rot) because of the air pump(s) and the air stone(s). The pump puts dissolved oxygen into the water, and the DO prevents the plants from becoming overwatered. If your air pumps are too weak or non exsistant then your plants will become overwatered.
PeaceLuvPot, I can not vouch for what others do, but I can tell you what I do. I never have a time where the roots don't poke out of the net pot. I clone in a DIY EZ-Cloner, and I don't transplant until my roots are 9" to 12" long. I do believe that is what most people do, although I could be wrong. If I am wrong, it is what most people SHOULD do, cause it makes things so easy, and the girls just take off after transplant.
