The Left = Trifling

One need only take note of the dozens of threads about tea-baggers this and Palin that to see that the Left spends most of their time trifling about things of little concern to the Right or any thinking person.

Most on the right understand that there are a small handful of idiots who go to the tea rallies and make fools of themselves. We get it - we know they are fools and they are not representative of the rest of us which is 99.9999% of Conservatives.

And we know Sarah Palin was in over her head in the campaign. She lost, it is over and there is little point in discussing her unless she runs in the future.

To me, what I see when I see this constant trifling from the Left, is that they really have nothing better to focus on. And it say something about who they are and how they think. Clearly, the Left has very little in the way of deep meaningful thought, so instead they start threads about tea-baggers and Palin ad nausium.

I have but one question - is that really the best you can do?

Obvious attack thread. There is no other reason you created this than to attack the people who you put in the "left" category who come in and defend the stuff you oppose.

Is that really the best you can do? - I mean, being so enlightened as you so obviously are...

That's some shit a 12 year old would pull.

So grown up you seem.

Geeze Rick, You ought to have a talk with the other 99.9% of righties on the site. Seems like they are defending the teabaggers every move. As far as I can see, with this post, you actually may have a brain after all. Now if you could just try and see the other sides point of view, maybe bend a little, there may be some hope for compromise solution. I can see some of the conservatives viewpoints, and would be willing to make compromises. It is the hardheaded visage of the right that is stopping all progress in DC and most everywhere else for that matter. Give some and get some I always say.

I'll bite on this one. I consider myself independent but that doesn't really matter. The reason so many people continue to talk about Sarah Palin is because she is drawing huge crowds and helping grow the Tea Party Movement. It would be one thing if, like you said, she lost in the election and that's that. But it's not, she went home, quit her job as Governor and went into full-time campaign mode. She is angling for a leadership role in the Tea Party Movement and by-proxy the Republican party, she is out stumping for candidates in congressional races. It's not "trifling" to bring her up because, like it or not, she is becoming a huge force in conservative politics.

It's not trifling to keep bringing up the Tea Part thing either. It's an extremist movement that is using the threat (implied or spoken) of splitting the Republican party, weakening it at a time when the party can least handle it, in order to force centrist politicians to move farther to the right. It is a divisive movement that does not even try to hide that point. Moderate or reasonable conservatives have a lot to fear from that group and the Teabaggers know this and exploit it.

Do they (The teabaggers) actually think they can move the whole republican party to the far right? Do you know what is actually over there on the far right? White supremists, Nazis, Ku klux klanners, Militias, John Birchers, etc. Is that where the republican party is headed? If so, they are not going to win any major offices any time soon. All the left has to do is show the country what is over there on the far right and believe me, they are toast.

@ doc111 - Ummm, what? That is not what Rick was saying....did you misquote? I haven't seen much Bush bashing in this thread yet...I'm all confused and high now.

EDIT - it took me a second, but now I get it....nevermind. Just a tangent related to the sentiment of the OP, got it. Agreed

The tea partys are nothing more than a bunch of people venting. If they should become a third party, that might be something worthy of discussion, but that has yet to be seen.

For the moment, there are probably about two dozen morons out of the thousands that attend these rallies carrying stupid signs with swastikas and the Left thinks and wants everyone else to think these couple dozen fools represent everyone there. The fact is, 99.9% of the people at the tea parties are ordinary folks who are just upset with government policy. It's just that the Left wing media only shows the but jobs and they bury all the clips of the intelligent, articulate people. Oh, and by the way, there are many cases of Liberals attending such rallies disguised as hate mongering nut jobs just to make the other protesters look bad.

Do you guys really not get this?

Well, he got us into a war on a lie. He used the war so his cronies could profiteer with sweetheart no-bid contracts that ripped off the American people.

Maybe that is not "fucking up" the country, but it is certainly not something to be proud of.

you write "moderate conservatives" but so obviously mean those republicans who have long ago abandoned the tenets of conservatism, those that cater to the envious mob in hopes of garnering a few more votes. just as the democrats have whored themselves out to the interests of wealth redistribution and the culture of entitlement, that reasonable element of the republican party you're so concerned about has betrayed the conservative voters and turned their party into advocates for socialism lite. that huge segment of the american public that adheres to conservative principles has found themselves without a voice in the political arena and they are merely trying to regain that voice.

certainly there are extremists within the ranks of the tea party movement, but their numbers are no more substantial than those within any other movement. calling a desire to return some power to the advocates of limited government and adherence to the constitution only goes to show just how far our representatives and their puppets in the media have strayed from the philosophy upon which this country was built. by labeling them all as fanatics you denigrate the traditions of individual liberty and self-reliance that are behind so much of conservative ideology, attempting to substitute the creed of the herd and the rhetoric of envy for our more lofty ambitions.
