Missio Dei Church will hold an open discussion on where marijuana fits in the church at 7 p.m. Feb. 3 at Mulligan's Pub, at 2439 S. College Ave.

The discussion is part of the church's monthly Theology Pub event.

The discussion, named "Can a Christian Smoke POT?", is designed to discover the biblical position on the use of medical marijuana as well obtain insight into the Christian position if marijuana becomes legal for recreational use.

"For too long, the church has ignored this topic, and we feel it is time to open up dialogue so that the members of the church know where they stand whatever the outcome might be," said Jason Laurie, a member of Missio Dei church and an organizer of the event.

Laurie said the meeting is designed not to solve the issue or create some dogmatic rule to follow, but rather to gather information from both sides so people can make an educated decisions on where they stand on the issue.

For more information on the meeting, visit MissioFC.com/theologypub or call the church at (970) 672-9139.

Missio Dei is a growing evangelical church in Fort Collins that meets at 6 p.m. Sundays at Evangelical Covenant Church, 4825 S. Lemay Ave. For more information on the church, visit www.missiofc.com.

Gotta get the spin out.....

what does the Bible say? Only the church can decipher the "hidden" truth.... lawdy....

Matthew 15:17-18
Says something along the lines of - "It's not what a man puts into his mouth that defiles him, but rather what comes out."

Genesis 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Genesis 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

If Jesus ever existed at all (there is no historical proof), he was a radical Jew. The message of Jesus was meant ONLY for Jews, no one else. Jesus never intended for non Jews to cop his teachings.

it has often been said that Jesus was anointed with holy oil almost every day - on his head and all over - and at the time cannabis was a major ingredient in such oils..

Fuck Jesus, who cares what the church thinks. They can live within their own little set of rules, while the rest of us live our lives.
