Fan specifically for cooling 600 watt light and Fan for cooling room

So let me know what you guys think about this idea. I have a 435 CFM fan pulling 75 degree air into my sealed room and out of it constantly. Then I was wondering what would you guys recommend, in terms of CFM, to cool my 600 watt light. The air would be pulled from outside the room through the light and out of the room. Basically two different cooling systems. Can you guys think of any other more efficiant way of cooling the grow room, it's in my attic and I can pull 75 degree air from inside my house always, but only one inlet.

400 cfm should be more then enough air to cool the light bruv, hang em from bungie cords so there not loud!!

The 400 is not for cooling the light. That's to circulate air around and into the room. I'm going to hook up a second fan for just cooling the 600 watt light and don't know what CFM would be sufficiant enough.
Here's a basic sketch of what i'm talking about.

The 435CFM fan isn't for cooling the light. there will be 2 seperate cooling systems, one for cooling the room and one for cooling the light. I think you misread the first post.

i use 400 watt light and run 465 cfm and you can put the light 3-4 " off the top with no burn. I heard an old formula of 1/2 to 1-1/2 CFM per watt dont know if its accurate. For 600 iwould use between 400 to 800 CFM depending on how close you want to put the light . Just my opinion im no expert but thats my two cents, hope it helps.

I have my 600 aircooled right now and have been keeping it 6" away with no problems :]

I got two 125 cfm 6" duct fans pulling air in/out of my reflector on my 400w hps and it's really good. I'm sure if you got duct fans you'll be fine with a 600w.

Hello NegroNinja: I have the same question and curious to know what speed of fan for Ur 600watt light system for cooling U found that worked? Or anyone that is out there. Cheers....my set up will be as follows: 6.5x6.5x6.5 tent, 600 dimmible ballast, carbon filter, vent in fresh air, expel dirty air, using small fans for gentle breeze as well as incline fans for the carbon and cooling of light, Hydro drip feed in 5 gall buckets. Thx in advance for U'r time...whomever it may be that answers this. Good day!

  • "Well that's great and all, but what speed is your fan? You didn't really answer the question".
