hi guys, hows the smoke? i found out what the problem with my flowering girls was. it was very bad root rot. its an experience that i have learnt from and aim for it not to happen again. now i am focusing my efforts on my new grow. hopefully i can get a full cycle this time.

hey all.. im new to this so feel free to point me in the right direction if this topic has been covered in other threads.

Im wanting some opinions on outdoor strains that do well in Australian climate. Im in Melbourne and thinking of ordering some seeds from and online seed bank.

So far the strains im interested in are NYC diesel, White Widow, Super Silver Haze and Blueberry.

The seed banks ive looked into are Attitude, PicknMix and Nirvana.

Any info on these strains or better options and?or on these seed banks or other seed banks that you have had good experiences with in the past would be good.

Cheers

If youre going outdoor then grow the sativas that everyone growing indoors wishes they could!

They're all quite nice strains, I'd like to grow them all! As for the seed banks, I'd stay clear of Nirvana (search for why) and even wouldnt go with Attitude (too many Americans use them = maybe more commercially orientated than other banks). I believe jats has used pick n mix, and it'd be nice to buy a few of each of those seeds and get yourself an awesome gene pool!

I, and others in here, have had successful with planetskunk.com and I'd be happy to use them again.

My only fear with pick n mix is that from what I understand you wont be getting breeder packaging which makes it that much easier for your order to get stuffed up.

Hello Jats and all Aussie growers. I am just new to this so go easy on me. I have read huge amounts and learnt i think enough to get me started. I hope to learn as i go aswell and i didnt spend a cent on expensive seeds so if i fail, which is highly likely, it wont have cost me an arm and a leg. Can anyone give me any suggestions on why my plants are taking their sweet arse time getting going? I will post some pics. I had them outside originally but as the wind is strong and the sun not always shining i have moved them inside to a homemade contraption that has 3 CFL's on them 24/7. Two are simply the most powerful desk lamps i could get and the other is a tradesmans work light. 2 are cool white light bulbs and the 3rd is warm. I have three plants and i actually think they are showing signs of their sex. Is this possible as they are so puny? I have moved them in and out of the sun/lights and i think it may have unsettled them a bit which may result in their stunted growth. Anyway heres some pics of my setup and plants. I dont mind constructive negetive comments with the emphasis on constructive.

Ugh well what a waste of time replying that was. Saw your thread detailing the grow.

Either keep them under those CFLs 3-5cm away from the globes for another 2-4 weeks, or put them back outside and leave them there. Moving them in and out is not doing them any favours.

I thought you would go easy knickers? I appreciate comments that will help me learn so not a waste of time at all. I know its a pretty insignificant setup but i continuosly read about not spending too much money so i have tried to keep it cheap. Maybe thats how my plants will turn out but at least i am enjoying myself. I was under the impression that forums, at least the ones that i belong to, were for sharing ideas and helping each other and not for putting down others efforts.

Yer, I stuffed up my 1st batch of seeds, I still dont know what 4 of my plants are, so instead of cloning them, I threw them into flowering when they were of age, dont germinate in the same jar more than 5 strains, as water can make seeds float and move :dunce:

Oh yeah Jatz, u have had some back luck with hermies, sorry to bring that up, I didnt even try to save him/her just cut the thing down...:bigjoint:

Also RS, I dont know much about fluros, but the experience I have had has been bad, slow growth, Just buy a small 250wHps and be done with it.:bigjoint:

thanks knickers thats all great to know. That will definitely help me choose a seed bank.

Im not totally new to growing but thats a good reminder ill def try and find some good quality strains that a hardy but still good producers to add to 1 or 2 high quality strains.

again thanks but if anyone else knows of some good seed banks that would be great:weed:

I had written a bunch of stuff for you based on assumptions as you hadn't provided basic information and I was in a helpful mood. During the writing I checked to see if I could find this info out in your other posts, and surely enough you had made other posts that made my suggestions irrelevant. It was therefore a waste of time replying. You can see that I edited the post accordingly. Not only that but you had already received the correct advice in your thread.

Put em outside.

having read a couple of other threads i think it might be too soon to tell the sex, i just got freaked when i saw small green balls forming on the intersections, but the female white hairs could sprout from these balls yeah?
