1st time grow 12/12 from seed

hi this is gonna be my first time acutaly doing it right i hope.... i grew a plant before i put it in dirt and let it sit on my window till it got to be like 3' tall but i had no light to flower it so it ended up dead lol



im gonna use part of my closet wich is 22"x30"x30" i wana put as many plants aas i can in there on a 12/12 from seed any ideas on how many i could fit and how many watts of cfl should i use for sucessful grow

this is a soil grow and i want the best at a good cost but tere tons of differnrt type so any suggestions

1. Follow a general rule which is about 3000 lumen's per Sq. ft, so *does math* thats 4.583 repeating so lets say 5 sq feet.thats about 15000 lumens.

2. No, don't do as many plants as possible... fo you i'd recomend 1 or 2 plants with LST and SCROG... you're prolly gonna want to germinate about 4 or 5 just in case theres is males... unless their feminized...

3. do 18/6 for veg growth and 12/12 for flowering.

Hey man, I'm doing a similar closet grow in a box thats about 2'x2'x3' just using one 125w cfl at 6400k for veg then 125w cfl for flower hanging thru a hole a cut in the top of the box its pretty sweet, about one week from sprouting and they're loooking great. i have about 8 sprouts at the moment and im just going to keep all the females i can.

Each bulb cost about 50 bucks, you can search online for one. ill try to get a pictuere up

haha funny thing is i only got like 50 to go spend on lights and soil so could i use like 6 23 watt 6500k and 2 2700k bulbs for veg and 6 2700k and 2 6500k for flowring? whihc would equal to around 200 watts is that good enough for like 6 at first and then hopefully like 3 females

i gota pic of the set up i have right now im in the prosess of make a bigger grow room so this little ones just sprouting one plant only 1 seed was ready gonna put more later

i wouldnt do more than 2 plants with only 8 small cfls. you are only around 1050-1200 lumins per bulb and you grow space requires a minimum of 8 to reach the minimum lumin goal. i wouldnt expect a monster yeild or dense nuggets.

125w are to innefficent and not worth the money, they output about 6500 lumins, about the same as 5 26w cfls do. the 5 cfls run you around $10 and you will get vastly superior light coverage and better bud production. with the single cfl i would either lst or scrog. if you dont you will end up with a lollypop, the only advantage cfls have are when they are used to accentuate lower budding reagons.

for $60 you can get a 150w hps from htgsupply and that will do around the same lumins as 3 of the 125w cfl's. cfls work ok but restrike loss and and the general shading of most of the bulb makes them not the best idea, t5ho's would be good if the cost would come down. there output is more than double (based on a 24" bulb) than a spiral cfl and over 4 times (based on a 4' bulb). cost of the bulbs are about the same but the cost of the ballast and/or reflectors are the budget killer.

well i just want a few plants so i have enough to smokeand throw some cash in my pocket and be able to get like a hps lamp and like a grow tent and i might try hydroponics next time seems easyer but ill start puttin more pics on as time goes by

Go with the hps cfls are a waste of $$$ and time... You get much better results with hps from what ive seen.

lol good work at least you did your hw. Well gl man. All I can say is that you should consider lst, topping, or FIMING. I grew my plants with a 400 watt hps and they're 4 feet tall now and light only penetrates about the top foot. It is my first grow as well, but if I could do it over I would definetly of done one of these methods, or bought another light..

also, if you wanted.. I was considering doing the same thing to add to my hps but you can buy y splitters and double your lighting for under $40.

well acutally now i have a grow bo thats 32''L x 20''W x 46''H so im gonna need more light how many 26 watt bulbs would be good for this space

Don't forget about air circulation it is most important... You can put all the lights in there you want, but if the air ain't right it will never work

depends how many plants your going to grow but for 26 watts id go with at least 10 for 2-3 plants
