Just transplanted them yesterday..kiss-ass

nice strains, please light proof your res. in the picture your res level is aweful low. lets see your roots if you have any.

No roots past the nets yet...There sticking out of the rock wool though... How much higher on the res? why does it need to be light proof?

I don't mean to repeat what loola said but........... Please lightproof your res for a number of reasons first and foremost being that roots live in the dark.. Light will kill your roots!! Find some safe way to lightproof the tub, I prefer the aluminum tape from lowes. You can get all sorts of nasty things like algae if you don't... Also you want your water level around 1-2 inches from the bottom of the net pot.. especially if the roots are young. You want them to be nice and moist so they can reach the water.. =)

Light+Air+Water = algae! It sucks trust me. Light proof everything you can. Do you have a water pump with feeder tubes? If so pId like my water about 1-2 inches from the bottom of the pots, if there is just an air pump and air stone I would have the water almost touching till the roots come out of the bottom of your net pot. Make sure there isnt any algae already from light getting to the water. If there is dump your res, wipe down everything with peroxide and start over with 1 tbsp of peroxide per gallon of water. You can use up to 3 oz per gallon if it gets bad but I use 1 or 2 tbsp per gallon.

light proof 4 sure, do what ST said and top water for a couple of days and you will start to see roots and a big difference.

agreed agreed agreed.....i already had a major problem that killed 3 of my plants...prob mainly from light leaking in

and honestly id figure out a way to make some kinda reflector for ur light so that its shooting straight down....and a hps is mainly made for flowering....u need 6500k light spectrum for good veg growth so id atleast use some 6500k cfls for the time being unless u have a MH to use. cus they promote vigoris vegatative growth. but other than that it looks good man

They look good so far but you definitely need to lightproof your res like everyone else said. There are countless reasons for this: light kills roots, light facilitate the growth of algae, light heats up your res which in turn causes low DO (dissolved oxygen) levels. Also, get your light some type of reflector. HPS lights work the best horizontally with a matching reflector. I recommend the adjustable batwing reflectors because they are cheap, efficient, and adjustable. Water level should be almost touching the pots until roots are in the water. Then you can lower it gradually to about 2 inches below.

nemore progress man?

Yeah, hooked up a dark blanket to cover the res until i get that situation figured out. I was told at the hydro shop that i could use hps for veg/flower.... Ive used cfls before, but the plant takes forever to mature. So i thought i would give the hps a shot.
So at the stage im at now, how long would it take to hit 24 inches???
Ill post some new pics!

They should reach 24 inches in about 4-5 weeks I would say. You really need to hang that bulb horizontally man or else you are wasting a TON of light. Just look at all the light that's being wasted on the walls.

I was told mylar or white walls were good...but no foil

I think what he meant was that you would get the most benefit out of mounting ur bulb sideways. (i.e. Horizontal) I don't know much about HPS, but a lot of bulbs give off their best light from the side of the bulb.. just imo

The reflector will help but is not as efficient as a bulb mounted sideways like Stgeneziz said. If it is possible for you to hang it horizontally with a reflector, that would be best but the setup you have will work but will not be 100% efficient. It's up to you.
