And I think the thing that bothers me the most is the CLASS SEPERATION. I have traveled all over (even though natrone says no one has ever been anywhere but him...so sad) the world have seen the best of times and the worst in my travels. The fact that if u are born to the right family in Europe you will be fine. But if you are not there seems no way to get to a higher culture than what you were born into in Europe. And Europe is not good at defending yourselves cause very few have tradational values and serve only themselves and there govt. Taxes WAY to High. Hell all of your good golfers wind up coming here due to the tax consequence they endure.

Whatever, Jax. I was in the middle of editing when you posted your message, so I didn't see it until AFTER I had added to my post. the reason for the edit was that, upon closer inspection of said graphs, I realized they were not showing the DEFICIT, but the NATIONAL DEBT (two different things entirely), so I added the part about the difference between the DEBT and the DEFICIT.
I don't see how this is MY error. It was the poster before me who failed to realize the difference, and me who pointed it out.
Do you wish to argue that the debt and deficit are the same thing? If not, then there IS no argument between us. We agree. Clinton did not eliminate the national debt. See? We agree.

I think the main problem in the US is that the public school system has:
1. Dumbed down American students in an effort to make underachieving minorities feel good about themselves, instead of encouraging them to work harder, like the rest of us have to do in order to succeed. Success is underrated.
2. Promoting a leftist point of view. How you ask?
a. "Diversification" teaches to reject your heritage and the religion of your parents in exchange for a supposed universal acceptance. What's wrong with this theory is there is no tolerance for the right in this message.
b. Secular humanism - "Secular Humanism is an outgrowth of 18th century enlightenment rationalism and 19th century freethought. Many secular groups, such as the Council for Democratic and Secular Humanism and the American Rationalist Federation, and many otherwise unaffiliated academic philosophers and scientists, advocate this philosophy"
Rather than teaching that the USA has succeeded even in the face of communism, we have done more to advance modern civilisation - in just a little over 200 years - than most other nations have accomplished in 1000's of years... and instead of being thankful, or feeling proud of these facts, and be encouraged and empowered, we are instead supposed to somehow feel guilty? To those people I say

I agree GC..... I was shocked that NYC lit up the Empire State Building for the anniversary of Chinese Communism. There is plenty about the country of China to celebrate but it's crushing political regime isn't one of them. I'm sure that the 77 million killed under its rule would agree.... if they were around.

All things being relative it is far better to be poor in the USA than anywhere else.
Most poor ppl have more than the average citizen of Europe when it comes to personal assets.

yeah we should have stuck with Bush maybe we could all work for halleburton. And they can monitor our every move. This administration has had only a year and been fought tooth and nail by lobbyist to get the things he promised. By the way the standard of living is much better in a lot of EU countries my friend. I don't even know why we are blaming any administration this is our government and WE need to take it back. This is our fault for letting the government become what it is.

It is no where near that simple you guys talk like there are societies out there that are true capitalism or socialism there isn't one. they are all hybrids. Capitalism was severly hindered after the Sherman act and anti trust laws against monopolies. In a real capitalist society it is make money or starve no unemployment, no social security, no medicare, no governemt job placements, no affirmitive action. pure unadulterated let the market do it's thing. Sounds kinda nice right except guess what people have figured out how to make the free market the invisable hand jerk them off and spooge on you. kinda like they just did.
Obama is a conservative REP I wish we had a liberal or even true DEM president. The Rep are right wing extremists. Come on people open your eyes to the sad reality.
