pete breaks down and becomes acidic over time not good and the netting chokes the root development for a little while, humidity dome and a heat pad on low and i see roots in 5 days with rw cubes soak in olivias solution, clones or seed

I usually pull the netting off, I have let them go until roots exposed throught the netting as well before transplant. but I will keep an eye on the ph. but i'm growing in promix with biodynamic compost added. It's a moss mix so maybe that has helped keep my ph stable. thanks for the heads up.

Paper towels sprout but then you have to handle the tiny seedlings and get them planted. Raise the seed naturally...

It's much higher than 50/50 if you plant them correctly... make a small hole 1/4 down, drop the seed in, loosely fill the hole and water.
Keep it warm and keep it moist - this is where people mess up, let it dry out while the plant is emerging from the shell and it will die.
If you do this in a large enough pot you will never need to transplant.

Agreed. I listened to advice like this from my first grow on. I have never had a seed not germinate out of the paper towel. I have had them die plenty on me from fucking up planting them afterwards, but as far as the seed germinating and sprouting a little root I have had 100% success for over a year and many grows.

Grab a piece of tupperware or something you can rubberband some cling wrap over, get the towels moist, put your seeds in there, set it somewhere dark and moderately warm (I always put it over my cable box and it was perfect temp.)

i know that for me when i put the seeds in the ground to sprout they like to climb out of the rockwoolcube and then they become strechy and unruly, as for me i like to keep my grow room nice and balanced. as for doing it the way mother nature does you have to remember this, when planting indoors you are mother nature you have to decide everything for your plant and you want to give it the best chance at life from the verry start imo that is by using the paper towel method. also there is absoloulty no evidence that proves paper towels harm taproots. remember that all a paper towel is, is a tree that is biodegratable and 100% organic, and recomended by all that grow in my neck of the woods, you should buy jeorge cervantes book the medical growers bible, lots of info on sprouting seeds, and yes he says that you get better germ rates using this tryed and trued method, there is a reason we have been doing this since the 80s. and its because it works

put the seedlings under the light about 5 feet if you want.

yeah pretty much at 18/6 but put them like 5 feet under the light and then every day move it down about 3 inches or so until you girls have reached about 6 inches. then move them to reg hights

wrong if you put it in a large pot it will grow straight down and then emerge sideways and then you would have to transplant it in like a week . i had to transplant twice in 1 week because i sprouted in a 2 gallon pot
