Exceedingly Quick Question For Anyone With a Grow Tent

How did you mount an oscillating fan on the poles? I have a Sun Hut and have gotten everything else pretty much setup except for the fan - I'm truly clueless and would love anyone's input/directions (pics would earn extra credit).

I tie mine to the pole/brace using twine. I have tried it hanging from the cieling , on the floor, and this works best.

Thank you kindly - if you don't mind me asking, how large is your tent and how large is your fan? I have a 2x4 and am unsure as to how large a fan I could tie to the pole.

I used to use a 16 inch diamater fan mounted on the roof, aimed down.

I use 2, 6inch fans mounted on one side, pointing diagonally (they draw a triangle if you extended the vectors) . They don't oscillate. I just run them 24/7.

Tents get humid.. you need max airflow in there. I learned the hard way and got mold once.

How about a tower fan that oscillates ? Your local pharmacy probably has them on sale right now ! A tower fan is a vertical squirrel cage type fan . I picked one up at walgreens in the l.a. area recently 50% off . Put a couple of bricks, or blocks on the floor, and you've got a stable table

Actually, since I have more space than I require (3x4, which I don't need all of because it's only my vegging tent), I think that I'm either going to go with the tower fan idea or put a small oscillating fan on top of an upside-down bucket.

Not the most stylish option, but it is what it is.

look at my post earlier today in indoor growing, just get one that tilts up and down , you dont need to mount anything it should be able to sit on the ground

Tower fan works, but takes up space.

Also, when your exhaust fan is pulling a ton of air through the tent, the tent will cave-in on itself to form a more concave shape. The tower fan will either suck the tent into itself, or get knocked over. This is assuming you don't have supports in that area.

I went back into my tent a while ago and welded 4 foot diagonal bar stock pieces forming an X on each side of my tent. Fixed my cave-in problem and gave it major support.

Yeah, I have one of those and tried to mount it on one of the poles but it didn't seem to be working and I said "fuck it".

As far as the tower fan taking up space, I have more space than needed in my veg tent, so that's not a massive concern for me.

Haven't installed my exhaust fan yet, so we'll see about that, but it's only going to be a 4" inline fan (4" axial for intake, and a 6" inline fan for cooling my 400W).

The poles in my tent are far too thin to be hanging anything from, I had to use wood to make braces to support a 1000w in a 6 x 6 tent.

Not sure if it helps, but I used the exhaust to pull from the light fixture, and had the intake hose pushing air in the bottom, angled upwards. The intake is enough to blow the plants quite a bit eliminating my need for another fan.

In a 2 x 4 room, im thinking a good intake even blowing from the top should be more than enough.
