Some strange problem. Please Help!!!

Hi yall!
This is my first crop. The plants are 3rd week into flowering, I'm feeding them plagron bio fertilizers for bloom and I'm also measuring the Ph of the solution. They are growing in soil. Some time ago I saw that some leaves are beginning to wilt in some strange way (I've provided pics). I looked all over the forum but couldn't find a similar condition. I thought that it was a heat burn, so I bought a cooltube and cut down the temp to 22C (77F) but the condition kept on worsening. So I thought it was over-fertilization so I cut back on the nutrients, but it kept going on. Please give me some advice!

PS. The seeds are brainstorm bought from a well known seed bank.

This is called light burn.

The infrared light set off by your lamp is heating the water in the leaves, burning them from the inside. Note that this is different from heat burn.

The only solution is to move the light source further from the plants.

I actually think it's a N deficiency, mine do that late into flowering, need to give them a little boost of N (I THINK)
as it's way to early for the leaves to be burned up.

light burn doesnt get those lower leaves the way there burnt like that.my 1st guess would b nute burn.the tips of the lower leaves are burned all the way up ur plant.looks like u over did the juice a little to me.gotta what those ppm's.that pic of the one leaf isnt yellow.its burned...imo

It's interesting you'd all say nute burn, because nute burn starts at the tips or edges, rarely in the center of the leaf, and that only of it's overfed with N, whereas light burn simply affects the spaces between the veins. Light burn is usually seen in older leaves, and in very very young leaves, because they don't have a fast metabolite transportation system, thus the water stagnates more, raising the posibility for it to heat up.

If it's going to help, I use a 600W Hps and it's about 40cm from the top of the plants. And before the problem started occurring I was watering them daily with a nutrient solution.

you dont water MJ every day Bud
that's what your problem is
she needs to be flushed WELL, properly re nuted with lower level nutes
and let to dry for over a week.
You ONLY water her when she NEEDS it NOT EVERY DAY.
Typical noob mistake, just back off on the feeding.

Yup, dayly is too often...

Also.. 600w at 40cm is waaay too close. You shold have also gotten some heat stress from that... but since you were watering dayly, it helped.

How am I supposed to flush them (obviously I'm a noob) ?
Welcome to RIU ya noob.
Flush means take it out of the pot and put it in the tolet and flush a few times and replant...

Ok just fucking with ya

its where you flush the soil with water 2-3 times the amount of soil you have (5 gals soil means 10-15 gal to flush), you let all the water run out the bottom.

This removes all the undissolved salts and nutes in your soil do it about every 3-4 weeks and 2 weeks before harvest.
Add 1 table spoon Black Strap Molasses to the last gallon of water + your nutes and a cap of hydrogen peroxide and your all set.:joint::joint::joint:

Ok, so I flushed them, but forgot to add the nutes to the last gallon. Is that a big problem and should I water them now with nutes or wait another week?

need to let the soil dry out for a few days, your gonna make em show more signs of over water
more damage will be done since your depriving them of oxygen.

One last question (I hope) - What is the ideal distance from a 600w Hps lamp to the top of the plants?
I couldn't say, but here's a trick to figure out for yourself:

Since weed and the human body seem to have the same threshold for heat (both get burned at temps over 45C), simply stick your hand out, palm upwards, next to the top of the plant and keep it there for a minute. If it feels unpleasantly hot, it's too hot for the plant too, if it feels comfortably warm, it's ok for your budding buddy too.
