ok so i've only grown this strain of BigBud in hydro until this grow... my first 3 attempts failed horribly in the flower stage and it looks to be happening again.

these plants just seem like they grow lots of hairs but then never fill out....

They started 12/12 on 8-11-09 so 27 days in...

feeding them fox farm bloom nutes and cal-mag always ph'd to 6.8-7.0

tested run off the other day and it was a little low around 6.0 so i've been watering at 7.4 to try bring it up...

but i see ZERO trichs under the microscope and ZERO smell....

should i be worried?

more info...
two 600w hps air cooled systems
temps 75-85* 91* F today as you can see on the thermo but never usually that high.
humidity 40-50%
fans blowing across canopy
5gal buckets with holes drilled in the bottom

also i started flowering at 21-30" tall... now the 30" one is pushin 72" tall..... is that normal and they seem to still be inching upwards at about 4 weeks into flower... never had a plant do that before

I cant comment on soil but I can offer a few suggestions.

Its TOO hot......try to keep it around 77.

Flowering MUCH too talll for BigBud....flower around 12"

If you want to reduce stretch try to keep the day temps and night temps within 5 degrees.....77 day....72 night.

Heres my current grow under (2) 600's. They went to 12/12 on 8/15. The strain is hashplant.

Except BigBud is primarily Indica....not Sativa. Those plants are a little lanky (sorry...not getting on you....just trying to help) and were flowered MUCH too late.

Your heat is DEFINITELY a factor on why they "never fill out". Too much heat= airy colas.

also a spike once a day @ 90 wont hurt a thing his temps are in the right range. 75-85 isnt bad. give it some time they will fill out . its early.

so your not going to yield tooo much but im guessing thats because of the strain. but hey, your only 27 days in so you still have some time. let em be, happy grow.

they def. get fresh air... i'm growing in a shop and i have a 435cfm fan pulling air from outside the tent into the lights and then outside..

then i have a 500cfm booster duct fan (so like 200cfm) pushing air into the room.

and a carbon filter with a tornado fan in it sucking air out at about the same rate as the intake fan....

u thinking lack of Co2 at those high temps is doing it?

do they look mostly indica hydro? really?.......
I wasn't commenting on what they looked like since you said they were BigBud. My comment was to the other poster who said that BigBud was primarily Sativa.

OOps....getting my posts mixed up...sorry guys.

Rivers....he said they were BigBud and I assumed he knew what he planted. They LOOK like Sativas or highly stretched Indicas. Don't you think they look a little airy/lanky regardless of the strain? That heat is really gonna affect the bulkiness of the colas.

get that heat in check it could be that thew temp around the ro0ts is to high,or something of that sort.,.,.,also those r very lanky for even a sativa indo0r.,.,.tryn tie em down and get temps low and all should be go0d

they are sativas. when they flower they stretch as much as possible. your plants are normal and beautiful.
In his first post he said "BigBud". He may be mistaken but BigBud is NOT primarily Sativa. Most BigBud is around 85% Indica and 15% Sativa.

Those plants are WAY overstretched and he mentioned that his buds never seem to fill out. He has temperature issues.

needless to say those are not big bud. i ask you does it look 85% indica? all he needs is co2 in his room during the 90 spike . however he did say it hardly gets to 90. 75-85 is optimal. its a three week flowering sativa. ill say it again its lookn great. do not turn off the 600 btw.
