That's the first time I've seen that Donahue clip. I think the fact that Donahue then went on for decades, after being presented with such a SIMPLE and incontrovertible argument for capitalism, to argue against capitalism shows that you cannot change these peoples minds. I think that's why it is so frustrating to debate liberals, facts and history just don't hold water with these zealots. They relentlessly try to demolish capitalism, regardless of the fact that we all are reaping the benefits of capitalism, yes even the poorest of us, and our lives are made easier, more comfortable and without question longer not in spite of, but because of capitalism.

Careful, you might be accused of making a fallacy-laden argument. It is forbidden to point out that Obama and Hitler are both demagogues that talked about Hope and Change in a period of economic turmoil.
And I don't even want to know what kind of response mentioning that both of them were Socialists would bring out Obama supporters...
Of course there were some Germans that tried to assassinate Hitler, so it just goes to show that you can't judge an entire group of people by the worst examples.

i watched those clips what a self important and obvious racist. yeah colonization always does wonders for those colonized what a joke. he obviously thinks there is a big difference between absolute slavery and poorly paid slave labor which there really is not. there are obvious benefits of capitalism or any system for that matter but justifying invasions cultural control and wars based only on capitalism is a little twisted and looks at life and the world very selectively at best. the current form of hyper greed driven capitalism is causing a number of our (the us) countries current problems there has to be some system of controlling out of control business practices and the current sytem of self regulation by itself is failing.

Bicycle, the US govt. (Congress) is what brought us the financial meltdown....turn off CNN and look for the objective truths instead of the mass spin. The very ppl who have injured us are now in charge......and growing. Take a good look around so you can tell your kids what it was like before the dark ages...

no not wrong we have military bases all over and have a history of being places we should not i dont make this stuff up as i go along. i see big business as an outreach of our continued interference for monetary gain in other countries were not fooling anyone. this is the new colonialism being used to control american interests.

its not a matter of studying or knowledge or what either of us consider colonialism. its a matter of different viewpoints about americas current place in the modern world. i dont agree with alot of whats going on and feel the more 'cookie jars' americas hands are in the more issues were going to have in the future.
