hi, i planted my plants may 4th now its june forth and the tallest one is about 3 inches and only one single node the old growth has turned white while the newer growth still a nice green but now the older ones are drying up and starting to fall off. they are in 3 gal. pots 400w hps about 12 inches away from light . temp gets no higher than 85 . nuted once at 1/4 strength . i water nicely then let 2 inches of soil dry. sorry my camera is not good enough for pics. could ph inbalance cause this? do they need more nutes maybe? any ideas? thanx in advance for future help.

Dud you are leaving out SOOO much information. Are they in soil? Hydro? what grow technique? What nutes if any? Have you done any research? Take pictures and detail your whole grow and we can help you...

they are in soil, using miracle grow all purpose plant food 12-4-8. i have done hours upon hours of reading about how to grow weed, so i have the basics down pat. but i havent checked the p.h. dont have the stuff yet .i was surprised to find out how much harder it was to grow weed than it seems. sorry no pics will try to take some more tonight and see if they are worth posting

yeah...check your PH it is SO important. Any MJ plant diagnosis must start with knowing the PH. Without knowing ph its a total guessing game. here's my guess tho lol
your using tap water, and it sucks. mytap water is nothing short of poisonous. 8.4 ph and smells like a swimming pool. :-| get on the PH and get on the pictures. Good luck.

well i just went to get a ph kit walmart only has the ones for water, and what do you know...fuck me in the ass, the ph was 7.6!!!!! and that was the max on the reader!! it was prolly higher. screw tap water, ill just buy tons of distilled water i guess. anybody have a quick fix for my soil since i dont a ph test kit for it yet? i'll have to buy one online and today is saturday so it will be a while i dont know if my plants will last that long! what can i put in my soil for now that acts like a neutralizer? i have looked all around for dolmolitic lime...couldnt find any :(

You're right it probably IS higher. You're probably going to have to add some vinegar to your water to lower the PH before you give it to your plants but you are going to need a more accurate PH tester than the ones they have at Wal-mart. Lime will not lower your ph it will raise it to 7 if your under that, which you aren't. Lime should be added to your soil mix before hand. Its hard to apply after the fact because its slow acting.
Also FYI distilled water is ok but it lacks some tiny amounts of mirco nutrients (such as those found in tap water)that your plant can actually use so keep that in mind if you go with distilled.
I've been recommending this PH tester > http://cgi.ebay.com/Digital-Milwauk...66:2|39:1|72:1205|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50 I use it. Its inexpensive and accurate. You want to make the water you give plants about a 6.5. And then poor some through your plant and collect some runnoff out the bottom. Then test the runoff sample. Your actual soil PH will be somewhere between the two. And if you'd like to know more about Lime and soil chemistry this is a great explanation of the relationship between soil, fertilizers, and lime. > http://www.ncw.wsu.edu/treefruit/soil/lime.htm ONce you get a handle on the PH situation MJ becomes MUCH easier to grow! :bigjoint: Good luck!
