How much heat do you think 3,60w CFL's would generate?

you will be fine. CFL's put out very little heat. Plants can be about as close to the light as you want, as long as they dont touch. How many plants you looking to grow? You may wanna add at least a couple 25 watters or something to the lower parts of the plant. Actually you definately do! and thats just for one..

but you will need a fan for circulation.
is all of that space going to be used tho?
because youll definately need more light than 3 60wt cfls.
for veg plants or for flowreing?
make sure you have the right cfls too.

well im thinkin about growing about 3 possibly 4 girls,im going to keep them reasonably small of course,i normally would go for a nice high pressure sodium but im limited in space so the temperatue would be a huge factor. Well how many 60w cfl's would i need? and how much are they usually?

Im on my first grow and using cfl's but IMO..
3 60w may be ok for the tops of no more than 3 plants. Up to you on how much side lighting you'd like to add. But I would add something. @ 1000bulbs.com a 105w cost me about $37.00ea. And two 65w ran about $25.00ea.
Im running two 65w and one 30w on the top.. And two 25w on the sides of one plant for flowering. Wish I was able to squeeze more.

a 150 watt hps would prob not fenerate much more heat than the required amount of cfl,.. i have a grow cab just a smidge over 2 ft by 3 ft and 4.5 ft high, with 4- 4ft flouros in the corners and 2 65 watt cfls hanging down and it got to 94 deg. in there,.. i have a 4.5 inch duct with a small fan blowing in through the floor and abour a 6 inch sq hole cut in the ceiling to the attic, which was passive heat vent,.. but i had to install a fan in that hole last night,...
its not rreally the bulbs themselves that generate the heat , but when you get to the larger cfls, each one has its own little ballast in the base, thats what generates the heat, and in my case also have 4 48 inch flour fixtures in the corners with 4 ballasts too,.... im looking into a 150 watt hps to replace all this, i actually think it would be cooler especially if the ballast was remote, like in the attic or something,..
I'm almost at the end of my second week of flowering six plants. I was using 60w eqivalent cfls up until a few days ago when I upgraded to 100w equivalents. My plants were doing pretty good before but I've seen marked improvement since the upgrade. I do agree that not enough light is getting to the lower part of them, but just yesterday I went to Home Depot and got two 300w cfls for $15.00 a piece. Now it's really gonna be on!!!

well maybe i should have the 60 w above and run a couple 100-150w tubes on the sides to give it more light?
Im going to have panda paper along all of the walls,and maybe mylar under the plants themselves.
Im going to use all fox farm nutrients so that should def help a lot.

make sure you get daylight or cool white bulbs.
bulbs with alot of blue spectrum are for veg.
and warm or soft white for flowering.
put your babies kinda close together and get something........
like some big piece of styrofoam or some shit and block off the space your not using so you wont waste any light.
get like... 8 daylight or cool white cfls at home depot for like..
$5 for a for pack.
they have little light holders there too that you could easily use.
put 5 or so above the plants and a few around.
then you should be good.
