Mr I Can Do That For Half
Ok I have a diagnoisi problem going on. I have never seen this issue before in growing but I am sure someone can pin point it. These plants are growing in basic flood table using my routine fox farm nutes under a 400 watt light.Just a side grow of 15 left over clones that figured Id toss in a spare grow tent.I am keep ph around 5.5 on these and just getting ready to flip to flower. I thought it may have been some of the humbodlt additives I used but not sure. Its hard to see but the leaves are curling and turning soft in places. Some have gone black and others have the rusty tips. My ppm is in line so we are gonna say we have some kind of deficiency. I have done a 3 day pure water flush and am ready for a nice new bloom res mix. What should I add for the issue? Im going to add some silica but not sure whatelse I should toss in. Let the thoughts begin....

I am having the same issue my plants are beautiful in the veg tent but once i put them in the flower i get the same thing going on. I have been doing research and I think its Cal def. some one told me to top off my water more than I am so I will let you know how it goes..

This is in the veg state and has happened. they looked real good then started to wilt and show the color change and the burnt looking tips

Looks like a P deff to me.
You have one for sure even if it isnt the cause of the leaf problem though I believe it to be so. I know this first off by seeing the purple leaf stems on the leaves(which is first sign that you have a phosphorous deff). Increase bloom foods in your veg feed mix and see if the problem dosent correct itself.

The purple stem is a common new grower conclusion guess and would be a magnesium defciency . I use the same water I have used for all grows for past 10 years and have it tested each year and it has stayed the same. This issue is from a nutrient salt build up and subsiquent lock out. The cure....a 2 hour flood with plain water and floral shield which breaks the salt lockup and frees the plant. Then 2 days pure ph 5.5 water then a new res change with an extra boost of silica. Thanks for playing along and the thoughts...

Ok now the update..10 days from the last pictures a huge difference was achieved. As I said it was nutrient lock out and was solved by some flushing with floral shield and freshh nutes with a good blast of silica. now the new look plants are doing well...

how wud you solve this problem in soil???

my first thought upon seeing your leaves and seeing how high the issue went up the ladder to the top leaf set, i would have said your having some problems at the root level, and i personally recommend you do a maintenace flushing every so often, i get tons of salt and use flora kleen aswell, nice job

Basically it is a root issue from the build up. I knew what it was and let it go to get real bad so I could post this topic and kind of show some newer growers what can happen and how to fix it. More of a learning post as I get bored and thats what I do when Im not building setup or working lol

thanks for taking the time to make the post b/c i am having the same issue and was losing faith in my growing ability. i do a ton of reading but sometimes it's very hard to put everything together and come up with a solution.

No problem. Nute lock out can happen to the best. I got it from being neglectful of this little side grow. I wasnt doing my twice a day meter readings and see what happens lol Hope you get yours figured out

Nope the ferts were well in a safe range as I use only fox farm for this strain last 8 or so years Always from original mommy clones. I know exactly what my ppm max is for each week and stage. I have done about one hundred grows with this particular plant and the issue that started it was I neglected the ph which cauased it to stress the plants which caused them to not eat as much. That in turn allowed the nutrient salts to form and slowly block off the roots intake. Then when that happens drinkings slows to a minmal which then causes droop and physical signs. The nute lock doesnt give the food and micro and macro nutes the plant needs to maintain a level existence so you are strangling them, starving them, and dehydrating them. Fix the roots fix the plantsOver nuting has different effect as in veg it would be a over nitrogen which would have caused drooping full leaf rolling and dark dark green leaves much darker then you want almost black green. Wouldnt show the rust and crisp tips and the viening like these

i must admit i only looked at pics 1 and 8 in your opening post and both of those pics look like over n to me, they have the dark green look with the leaf getting mis-shapen,

thats just how it looks to me from those two pics fletch,

besides don't shoot me fletch, i'm a friend:hump:

i've been chatting to you for many years now in various guises

yup I know just trying to clarify the difference. might not show as clear in the pics but if you had side by side nute lock and over fert youd see.. Keep good grows going

My plants have that same look. started about a week ago. I had a spidermite prob, I fogged my room, and the plants started looking like yours right after. I think , (I know) some of the fog must have got into my flood trays, then mixed with the nutes. Im going to do a flush and nute change tomarrow.
