Hey guys, the title says it all.
i got these seeds from a friend (the seeds are both of the same strain i know that [or at least from the same nug lol]) but he had no idea what strain it was.
im currently 4 weeks into flowering, is there any way to tell what kind of plant (indica, satvia,...) or the strain (blueberry, diesel,....)

It looks pretty lanky, so I'm guessing it's Indica dominant. As for the strain, it will be pretty hard to tell until it's late into flowering.

def looks indica dominant but as far as pinpointing the strain its gonna be almost impossible... Once it nugs up u might have a better chance of narrowing it down :blsmoke:

well unfortunately i think the lankyness might be due to the type of lights that were used. using 2 fluoros and 1 clf might not have been strong enough so the plant was stretching to get closer to the light source? thats my theory at least.....

yeah the stretching looks to be caused by the lighting... U can tell its indica from the broad leaves tho

Yeah, definetly don't stretch it out, try to keep the lights only a few inches from the plants.

The bottom leaves kind of look sativa-like, but the lankiness makes it look Indica. Maybe a little of both?

Quite a bit of stretching you got there

What kind of lights are you using

It is indica dominant but not because it is lanky, or at least no indica I have grown has been short and squat with hardly any spacing.

I can tell it is because of the broader leaves.

But they aren't webbed so the dominance is not that great.

It looks loike an Indica that needs more light.

That plant is stretching like a Sativa but has broad leaves.
I mean it could be a 50/50 but I think you still need more light.

unfortunately im working with only 2 fluorescents and one small clf work lamp. its all i got so unfortunately im just dealing with it. ive tried to keep the stretching down by letting them grow into the fluoros a bit before raising the light but not sure how well it worked because i dont have other plants to test against.

thanks for the info tho and ill def post pics when the buds start coming in, hopefully then it will be more definitive.

Hey guys, the buds have started to fill in a bit more and i got some better pics of them. wonderin if anyone can help out in determining the strain and such of my plant.....

It looks like an indica dominant plant. Thats about all the information you're gonna get. Unless its a really unique and exotic strain like Cheese or Diesel you just have no way of telling what strain it is.

Also do yourself (and friends) a favor, if you decide to sell some of this when its all cut dried and cured, don't go calling it "ultra melon kush) or some other made up name. Its dishonest and misleading.
Anyhow good luck and happy growing.

haha i dont think this will be commercialized. plan to keep this for personal use over the summer (its due late april, early may)

but anyway, i realized that everyone is saying indica dominant but im looking at some of its new leaf growth during flowering and the "long, thin, fingerlike" leaves are very prominant. also, while the old leaves are the dark green with a purpleish tint, the new have a much lighter shade of green, but not yellowish yet....
any chance it might be a 50/50 split? im banking on that cause truthfully i prefer a sativa high over a indica high.....

here are the pics that im referring to, the first is of the old leaf growth and the 2nd is of the newer leaf growth.

thanks all again for the help. :bigjoint:

Heres what true sativa leaves look like, at very best you have an indica dominant hybrid, you never know until you smoke it, but i dont imagine you'll get the soaring sativa high you're looking for.
If you want sativa high you need to grow sativa plants, check out pick n mix or the attitude seed banks for a vast selection of seeds. If that floats your boat.

Uh, just to point out to victozap-lanky means tall and skinny. And in terms of cannabis plants that would suggest sativa, not indica genetics.
