I started 12/12 light cycle on the 9th. I know it takes a while to show sex but my plants are not looking good. I might have had my light to close but im not sure. Also,I dont have the money to order any nutes from the internet but I bought some organic MG that Ive been using. I used a weaker mix when I used it. Now my plants look like this. Im using 150 watt hps. The only thing I can think of is I didnt water them enough or the light was too close. What should I do?

Well when the light is on the temp is anywhere from 78-81. When its off it only drops to like 74 at the lowest. I just moved the light up to about five inches away from the top of my tallest. I only have two growing just incase one is a male I have a backup. I didnt have time to look at them much yesterday and I looked this morning and it was only like 2 and a half inches away from the light but it was not on the bulb side of my reflector. So I dont think it was THAT hot. It looked like it grew a few inches over night. I just water when I think it needs it. I read that if the soil is dry up to your 1st knuckle.

Don't cut your fan leaves, just let them get crispy, then gently tug them off, you want to make sure they're dead. To tell if your light is too close, you put your hand underneath it at different heights for 30 seconds...when you get so hot you can't last the whole 30 seconds, it's too hot for your plant, so don't put the light that close. With a 150 watt hps,you can get them fairly close, I had mine at about 8 inches and things were ok;but you experiment and see what works for you.I'm no expert, but your plants may be nute burned. What strength miracle grow did you use? You're supposed to start out at 1/4.What are your temps? What's the ph?

Temps are ok,and you have the right idea about watering them when the soil is dry.Perhaps you should check your ph.You can get disposable soil ph tests at walmart if you don't have a tester.

Ideally, you should have it close to 6 or 6.5. Seven is neutral, the marijuana plant likes it slightly acidic.
How strong were your nutes again?

To be honest I dont even remember. I know they were not as strong as it said to make them. It said 1/2 a cap full for 2 gallons. How much should I use? I make one gallon at a time.

Well 1/2 cap for two gallons...would be 1/4 cap for one...and then you want to make that 1/4 strength...so..a sixteenth of a cap per gallon at first?I'm not that good at math, hope I'm right.I'm going to make a suggestion to you....I think you should try flushing them.To do that, you set them in your tub and pour three times the amount of water as the size of the pot.So, for one gallon pots, you use three gallons of water. This will flush out the excess fertilizer. But before you do that, let me check with someone who is a little more experienced than me and make sure I am giving the right advice here.Be right back.

Thanks. By the way I just used the nutes this morning becuase I thought I needed to water them. Do I wait until I water the next time or do it now?

its yellowing from the bottom.... they most likely want some nitrogen.... probably shoulda gave em more nutes... what is the n-p-k ratio of that fetilizer you got??

I am using organic choice potting mix from MG. I think its draining ok. Its not the best but I dont think its a prob. But it might be...

def not the best, but one of the best from mg...i've used it with no major issues

There ya go, listen to gogrow, he's more experienced.

now you're just strokin my ego;-)

If im reading this right I think its 8-0-0. It says 8 percent nitrogen.

you're a week into flower right??
i'd hit em with a dose of what you have to boost up the nitrogen and fix that yellowing.... after that, you need to get you some bloom nutes.. (little to no N; higer p&k).... you'll be fine:eyesmoke:
