if they want you to sign, they usually put a piece of paper in the box that says specifically that you have a parcel that must be signed for. otherwise, the piece of paper that says to come to the window or lobby to pick up your parcel was put in your box in place of the parcel because the mail sorter figured that it would be too much of a hassle to try to fit the parcel into your box. or maybe they were afraid that the packagemight fall out the back of the box. (obviously, if an envelope with a letter inside it falls out onto the floor, no damage to the contents of the envelope will result. the same cannot always be said of packages, large or small.) my post office does the same thing, and sometimes for parcels that could easily fit into my box, and that have very legal, boring things inside.. Try not to worry.
