Hey RIU. This is my first grow journal. I've been lurking on the board for quite some time now and always wanted to grow. I finally germinated my seeds about three weeks ago and here's some of my progress.
Also If anyone out there with experience, even a little, could give me a few pointers I'd be very grateful.
My setup consists of 6 26 watt CFL's. Four at 6500k and two at 2700k for the full spectrum effect. At the moment I'm growing in a small space about 18"x14"x24" space. I'm currently building a 2'x2'x5'. Dividing it into two sections. The bottom 2' for clones/mother, and the top 3' for Flowering one, maybe two girls if possible. I'm on a budget at the moment so I'm only working with CFL's. Planning to have about 8-10 CFL's in the flowering chamber and 4-6 in the vegatation chamber. I may be using the ScrOG method seeing as I have limited space.
Also I'm growing using soil. At the moment I'm using Miracle Grow. I know, I know, alot of people on here say don't use Miracle Grow, but that's all I had available at the moment. Also have a small fan blowing on them to give them strong stalks. Also just experimenting with bagseeds. 3 of 4 sprouted in 2-3 days.
I have 3 "girls" growing. One of them does not seem like it is doing too well, so it seems like I'm going to have to let her go. The other two seem fine, but they do have a scary look that has me worried. Overall they(the two) look decently healthy to me.
First one is of Celeste, which in Latin means Heavenly, and the second is Edrea, which in English means prosperous and powerful.
Both of them are about 4 1/2 inches, and are about 2 inches away from the CFL's. For the first week I got a little too anxious and think I over watered them by watering them every 24 hours. After the first week I watered them about every 3 days, or when the soil felt dry with bottled water(I hope that's fine).
The temps around 75-82D F. the humidity is at 20-29% (don't know how else to get the RH up). I've tried putting paper towels into small containers filled with water, helped a little but not alot. Having a few problems with the "girls". The leaves seem to be curling downwards a little bit, and some of the leaves have spots on them. Thought it was the heat for the curling, but it doesn't seem high enough to have that effect. And about the spots I thought it could be Spider Mites, but i've checked them thoroughly(without touching the plants) and I find nothing. Any clue?
Well to keep things short any input is appreciated. Thanks and here are some pictures. The "girls" are about 18 days old. How do they look?
