Now i saw a post about febreze and a bucket, so type those words into the search bar and check it out. Basically a 5 gal. bucket with lid. Drill holes around the bucket near the top. Cut hole in lid and mount a small (they used 1 from a computer) fan over the hole and add a bottle of febreze with some water to the bucket and just let it run. If your room already smells spring fresh, your exhaust will to. Only problem i wonder about is, Are my plants going to smell like febreze ? hmmmmmmmmm.

I run an 6in growbrite fan
6 in air cooled light
and a Can 66 filter.
The fan pulls air through filter, through the light , through the fan and out. I have ZERO smell issues. The Can 66 is absolutely superior to the HTG filter which I had before.

this sounds pretty interesting and I like. You mind posting a pic? Your light isn't a Cool Tube, right?
did you buy that can at a local shop or off the internet. if it was off the internet could you post a link to the site. i have plans of pretty much that same setup but was not sure as to a good can. thanks bro.

Homemade Carbon Filters DO NOT WORK. Dont waste your time with them. Im sure they could be made to work for a small grow/veg closet, but you would need to wrap it with $100 worth of the Carbon Pre Filters.
For $90 you can get a PROFESSIONAL Dutch Breeze carbon filter with 13 lbs of Activated Carbon pellets (not the useless pre filters)
If you insist on making carbon filters, people should really use Carbon Pellets, and not the prefilter pads, the prefilter pads are for air purifiers, they just remove dust/dirt/hair not odor.

Yes, I know that I need activated carbon! I'm already getting dirty looks about smell from the misses!

Do yourself a favor, buy some filters. I run 2 x 13lb filter with 4 inch flange, my room is odorless. I can stick my face in a plant and I barely smell them.
If my fans are off for an hour or two then it fucking STANKS.

I simply bought Activate carbon in pellet form from wallmart . Added pellets to duct work on exhaust side and held pellets in place with matting from swampcooler pads. Works great. Yes, I only have 2 x 1000wHPS in a 6'x8' flower room, a 5'x5' veg room w/ 1 x 1000wMH and a seedling-clone closet with 3 x T-5's 2'. It is never helpful to knock something you may no little about.
Now, if i can remove filters all together by using a "febreze bucket", why not remove them and improve air flow-velocity ?
This could easly be fixed by just cleaning the hood and bulb once a week or so wright? Would the carbon effect the bulb or hood in any way other than dulling brightness?

so just put the filter on the outside of the room and push the air...will work great.....im using both styles right now......
this is what seems to work great for me.....first pic is a filter i put over my intake hole...second pic is of my exhaust fan and carbon filter.....no dust nowhere like this
