Manicuring the buds/flowers?

OK, I have looked around and cannot seem to find the answer. Sorry if it has been asked a million times.

When the plant starts flowering and developing the buds, does one need to trim leaves or manicure the flowering buds some way? I have been told you need to do this, so they will grow larger. Makes no sense to me, but what do I know.

Any truth to this? Can't I just let them go? Was the person saying this confused with something else?

NO. You will stunt the flowering.

IMITATE NATURE.

Thank-you. That is what I figured. No one is running around in nature doing it. This is my first grow, so nervous and will believe almost anything.

Look good? Started showing signs of flowering a week or 2 back.

flood em with light. what are you using?

I am using a very bright light. That pic was taken when I was turning off the lights for tonight's dark period. The one LED was still on. I have 5 LEDs for good measure, but my main light is a 150 watt HPS FloraLux. Just one plant, one light over it, with LEDs surrounding it.
