Chop this week? Is there enough amber trichomes, or would you wait longer

I personally judge the color of the trichome head (clear/milky/amber) as that’s what we’re really harvesting. The stigma hairs will give you an idea, but they can also be misleading. I’ve had buds where all the “hairs” are turned and orange and started receding 3 weeks before the trichomes went from clear to milky. I’ve also had plants keep pushing out new white stigmas when the buds themselves were pretty ripe (caused by environment). Do yourself a favor and get yourself a jewelers loupe or handheld magnifying glass.

This one below is a clip-on microscope that fits over your phone camera. Pretty handy as you can take video and photos. Great for pest identification as well. This is only $11.51 plus shipping.

So.. update it hermied and i got quite alot of seeds but i still got some nice buds that dont seem to be affected so i call this a win win green gelato from royal queen now i have about 100seeds mostly brown and tiger striped and a few green ones. But that has saved me heaps on buying seeds

I still wonder why people say you must use a loupe when looking on trichomes. Most modern phones are good enough if u know how to use it correctly

You dont want to grow those seeds, they have likely hood of doing that again. If you want to save just clone a good plant and keep a mother plant. Or make your own but properly with good genetics but the herm trait can always come out but not with a good clone.

Thats true. My first cannabis plant was a hermie. She only produced 30 seeds though. I have grown 3 of these seeds and they all have been hermie. However I have yet to find a strain that has fucked me more up than that strain.

My pheno almost 2 yrs old was mildly seeded unviable only two sights of nanners/sacs examined hard. I wanted to keep it. I clones it and never seeded again but will show sacs when stressed enough, nanners here and there can happen but all of them including sacs are sterile, never seeded from it.

I grew another strain same breeder saw a sac or nanner, hard to tell when its blown out and old. No seeds though. Id grow another pheno or strain from them. Especially the same one I do now if I ever lose it I got seeds, its just a strain I know best through and through.

It might be feminized but its perpetuating that trait to seed up from fertile parts. If it was sterile is fine but in this case it may not be. I dont get the whole picture myself its a whole thing.

Did your plant show balls as well as pistils? Or were they pollinated by nanners in late flower?
Rodelization is not a Hermie.
last 3 weeks or so but i didnt notice anything until i found a little yellow flower had opened up. There were no ball i could see

Yea i just bought some royal skywalker, white widow, bubble kush, and honey cream. Should be coming soon but always handy to have bag seed. experiment a bit when i cant fork out €100 on seeds

I spent a few hundred in pieces first starting out. Then dropped a grand when I started finding out how to find what Im looking for. Its an addiction but also the most important part of your grow. I dont have that many but started buying the 100$ packs for 5 seeds type thing. Used to buy super cheap ones.

I havent even dug that deep there are some crazy gems out there. Basically I just shop based on review on forums. Keep screen shots so I know what Im after when I hunt through a 5 pack. Cant have too many either as they go bad but could easily spend another thousand if I had it.

If you have seeds with tiger stripes, then it was longer than three weeks ago.

Balls or bananas you have a hermie.
You have both male and female parts on the same plant = hermie.
And, furthermore the plant pollinated itself and went to seed = hermie.

A female plant won't hermie, can't hermie.
A female plant cannot spontaneously grow male reproductive organs and self seed.
Not possible.

Don't believe the lies about Rhodelization, they're all hermies.
It's the main reason why bag seed is frowned upon. Often the seeds are unintended and have come from a plant that hermied on them that went unnoticed.

There's lots of misinformation regarding intersex and cannabis. Mostly from people who don't grow seeds themselves, or people who just don't know any better.
There are both monoecious and dioecious plants in cannabis.
Monoecious plants aka "hermie" is identifiable as having both female and male flowers. And, absolutely YES a so called "banana" is every bit male.
Dioecious plants will never grow both, they're either male or female, can't have both. Otherwise.....

You hear a lot about stable genetics or rock solid female? Stress Testing?
That's what they're talking about. Stable plants, aka dioecious plants.
No bananas, no balls, nothing. Even when stressed or stress tested.

What will come of the seeds you have?
Take into consideration when generally making seeds, you get 50% genes from mum and 50% genes from dad. Each passing on traits of their own.
Seeds from a hermie, 100% of the genes and traits have come from the one plant.
That should be enough to tell you the risk of getting more hermies from said seed is likely higher than usual.

There's nothing stopping you from growing them.
Just expect the worse and you might be pleasantly surprised in the end.
You won't get feminized seed though, I can tell you that much is BS.

I'd just use those.
Save the hermie seeds for an outdoor grow or something. Low cost, so it's no major loss if you get burned.
