Yeah, I'm going to cut Down on how many times I draw out of the same jar. I do like that idea of just Taking A Syringe and then making making a few smaller jars of LC And only drawing out of each of them once. Maybe even take a 10 CC syringe And make 10 to 20 pint jars of lc. I'll use them once each with a 30cc syringe. Then I'll just make more LC out of that. I'd love to have master jars of a whole bunch of A whole bunch of strains Saved up But every time I try I eventually have problems With the LC down-the-line.
Well now wait, I use red vaccutainers, each vaccitainer yields enough to start as many as 10 lc starts of one cc each.

They seem to last at least two years in the fridge. If you start an lc then take some of thar to start another then use that for another and so on you will suffer sentience. You dont want that.

Yeah losing track of what’s in what jar sucks. A couple times I wiped the labels off when I cleaned off the jars with iso before drawing lc. Now I keep a piece of tape on the bottom of the jar.

I had an fp+ jar that I wasn’t sure was good enough for g2g so I threw it in a bag with some coir.

I’ve been going crazy trying to master chocolate. All of these and I still don’t have it down. I’m starting to think a lot of it is from using cheap chocolate though. That or my temp gun is way off.

Have you tried mixing in some coconut oil and only melting the chocolate until there are still some small unmelted chunks left?

Sorry to be such a dumb ass. What is sentience? How does that affect liquid culture?

Senescence (/sɪˈnɛsəns/) or biological aging is the gradual deterioration of functional characteristics in living organisms. The word senescence can refer to either cellular senescence or to senescence of the whole organism. Organismal senescence involves an increase in death rates and/or a decrease in fecundity with increasing age, at least in the later part of an organism's life cycle.[1][2] but it can be delayed. The 1934 discovery that calorie restriction can extend lifespans by 50% in rats, the existence of species having negligible senescence, and the existence of potentially immortal organisms such as members of the genus Hydra have motivated research into delaying senescence and thus age-related diseases. Rare human mutations can cause accelerated aging diseases.

Sencience is a failure of genetics. A Clone of a Clone of a Clone of a clone.... finally exhausts the robustness of the pheno. The mycelium grows weak, loses its ability to produce good fruit and finally fails all together.

While it might take longer with a multispore lc it will still eventually happen.

And of course auto correct made me look stupid.

The best conventional way to estimate it is by measuring the length of the mycelium (yah gotta guess when you are fruiting). The best way to avoid it is to get a Clone of your best pheno, save up a lot of it and then draw from that store instead of continually cloning from clones.

I'm interested too. When I make chocolate Bars Id like them to be like it straight out of the factory. Still nice and crispy with a little snap to it Which shouldn't be so hard with mushrooms But for me it's been hard to do with THC chocolate mostly because of the butter. I have a whole bunch Of really nice white keif I've been collecting and would like to mix in with the boomers for choclate for thc/psilocybin bars.

I've been wanting to try to make shroom gummies, but I feel like I would Lose a lot of potency.

Yeah man I just got a bunch of 60mg ones but I’m scared to eat them, I’ve been weighing them and cutting them Into quarters.

Actually I just tried a similar method today so we’ll see. I think also my temp gun isn’t accurate enough for that. But the way I tried today was melting 2/3 of the chocolate and then dumping in the last 1/3 which I guess is called “seeding”. And it’s supposed to cool faster.

im Also figuring out that chocolate will still liquify into the molds even when it has the consistency of dough, today was also the coolest temp I’ve tried pouring it at. Although it’s not pouring as much as scooping and then shaking until it drizzles off the spatula.

Second flush of the FP got good sized

Beautiful tub. Thank you for the seeding tip. I'll give her a try next time I melt some chocolate. I just nuke a bowl with a spoon of coconut butter and mini-chips, in twenty second intervals between stiring it up. I think the coconut butter takes longer to set, but it is less viscous, so it pours a little easier and gives a little more time in case of mistakes.

Still thinking about buying a mushroom kit from my local hydro store were is a good place to find spores? How do you dry the mushrooms and when do you know when there really to harvest?

I get spores from friends that trade. You can get them from all over the internet. I wouldn't get them from amazon. Those prices seem a little extreme. I dry mine in the oven, just using the pilot light. Don't forget to tell your girlfriend that they are in there drying. She might burn your harvest. Don't laugh, she's done that and destroyed over a quarter pound. I pick the mushrooms after a couple of veils have broken. The spores turn the surface black, so you don't want that to get that far.

One reason I could be getting trich on some tubs before they fruit could be from me Spraying the top layer With water a little too much Or maybe some type of contamination in the spray bottle. I may try To just do the top layer at field capacity. That way I don't have to spray It. The humidity where my boxes are at in the tent is 70% R. H. So I probably don't have to spray too much anyways. Yesterday I had a tub almost colonized except for the very middle, I took the tape off the holes and put micro pore tape on and it turned green over night. Wtf smh...

I got my last spore syringe from www.skeletoncrewspores.com. Great customer service and quick shipping.

I recommend drying with a small food dehydrator. Readily available on Amazon for $50ish. As warble said, you generally want to harvest just before the veil tears and spores get deposited.

Well, I'm using CVG for my substrate. But when I Do bucket tech pastorization I use boiling tap water. My tap water does have a ph of about 7.5. Don't know if that's much of a problem. Because the Coco and gypsum are supposed to be a buffer for the p. H.. Then in my spray bottle. I just use distilled water Straight out of the bottle. I've just been going and going and going and haven't really got too much into the science of everything. I'm wondering if trich likes my PH more than my mycelium does. Come to think of it. I don't know if I had this problem when using only coco, And at that time I was pasturizing with distilled water. So mushrooms like it a little Acidic or about neutral ph. 6 to 7. Now thinking about it when I added gypsum Which Raises the ph and started using hard tap water With a high ph Is right around when I started having these issues. Maybe my substrates has a little bit to Much alkalinity
