Is a reversal of Roe v Wade decision next?

Like the Russians in Ukraine, the Republicans might have bitten off more than they can chew with the women of America. If by a miracle they win big enough, they can haul the justices before an impeachment inquiry and perhaps impeachment for perjury or nothing at all, because impeachment is a political process, not a legal one, or so say the republicans!

Thats assuming only evangelicals vote for people who run on platforms that support their beliefs. How does the Muslim community feel about abortion? How about the Sikh community? There are a lot of Catholics in the Latin American community that are opposed to abortion also

If you start adding up all the groups of people instead of selectively targeting groups easy to vilify, you realize people are more complex than talking points.

(that said I myself am pro doctor - patient confidentiality and believe the federal government has no place in the bedroom)

edit: also 17% of the US equates to 54 million + people…….food for thought I wouldn’t consider that a small community
Twist it you want, the polls show 60% support roe v wade and 34% don't.

i'm kind of dreading 2024...the republicans are setting themselves up to steal the election, and there is no fucking way they're going to get away with it. i do not see it as very far fetched that there could be a period of anarchy if they try. it will be at least state reserve troops closing off state borders between red and blue states, and declaring martial law in some places. and riots...and probably more murders, and more sensational trials.
but otherwise, things look like shit :D

Like Roberts stripping away voting protections because of the "new south", they sure showed him! Go ahead try it with 50 different countries and see how long it lasts with those states rats supreme.

The simplest solution is to win big enough and impeach who ya want for whatever reason ya want, because impeachment is a political process, not a legal one remember, that's what republican believe and that's what the legal scholars say. Win big enough and impeach ALL the conservative justices and appoint new liberal ones in their place. Those that don't agree with a unified country operating under one set of rules and rights for everybody in all states are gone. All those who believe the constitution is a dead document and not a living one should be gone from the court, in other words if you were in the federalist society yer gone. They made the courts political and impeachment is a political process not a legal one, no reason to be burdened with these assholes for decades. Not many of the public will even give a fuck or care, those that do won't vote democratic anyway. This is how ya play hardball with the cocksuckers, they want cold civil war, well this is a consequence of losing it.

Women's reproductive rights are human rights, they are not a controversy or a question and if these clowns can't deal with basic human rights, then forget your constitutional ones.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Vandals struck an anti-abortion group office, where a fire broke out and a Molotov cocktail was found, authorities said Sunday.

Madison police spokeswoman Stephanie Fryer told the Wisconsin State Journal that the fire reported shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday at the Wisconsin Family Action office in Madison was suspicious in nature. He said someone also spray-painted a message outside the building. Federal officials and the Madison Fire Department are helping with the investigation.

Serious question. Do you write off the opinions of all those small towns? Is it not within reason to consider their life experiences and points of view help form their political views? Do others know what’s best for them?

Some of the smartest most self sufficient people I’ve ever met live in Trinidad and the surrounding areas. There is a sense of community in trade and services that exists outside the taxable economy I don’t experience where I live currently.
No I don't write them off. Big believer in one person one vote. Their votes and views are as valid as mine. It goes both ways though, little towns don't want big cities to rule them, same as the little states; and we are aren't terribly fond of the smaller locations outsized impacts in our communities.

Your authoritarian right wing is literally killing people and terrorizing others for disagreeing with them. Or being openly gay. Or being Jewish. Or being Black. Or being a mayor in a Republican controlled state who enforced mandatory mask mandates.

Voicing an opinion that disagrees with the Republican fascist zeitgeist is dangerous.
This isn’t new btw. There are many instances over the years of violent action taken by extremists with all sorts of views

Are you sure it's not a false flag, the right love false flags. Like the right wingers going around setting fires to blame BLM protesters.

Usually they are rightwing republicans by a wide margin and the FBI statics back this up, J6 will cause a big spike in republican numbers for 2021. Republicans attract the mentally ill, emotionally unstable, stupid, fear driven and bigoted like flies to shit and we saw examples on display during the capitol insurrection. It looked like they emptied the contents a fucking state hospital on the steps of the place.

NPR reporter says ‘leading theory’ on SCOTUS leak is conservative clerk
A clerk for a conservative justice is the “leading theory” amid intense speculation about who released a draft opinion authored by Justice Samuel Alito showing the court is set to overturn Roe v. Wade, according to legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg of NPR.

Totenberg said on ABC’s “This Week” that the prevailing theory is that a conservative clerk released the decision in an attempt to lock in the five justices who voted to support overturning Roe as Chief Justice John Roberts reportedly attempts to pull his colleagues toward a more moderate position.

“That has never, ever occurred before,” Totenberg said of the leak. “That could only, in all likelihood, have come from a justice — that I think is less likely — or perhaps one of the clerks.”

Yep, 90% of the time some wacko radical right wing authoritarian Republican goes off and murders or commits some other crime of terror in order to suppress freedom. This is notable because it shows people who support civil rights for everybody has turned the tables.

Note, however that the act of arson was made in the early morning hours on a Sunday. It was simple property damage. Not the kind of murder that Republicans do. Unlike Republicans, the majority of people in this country tend not to murder or commit violence on others to achieve political goals.

I find it absolutely hilarious how fixated you are on the "you do it too" argument. You know what your kind are doing. Just stop with the gaslighting.
