Tea & Brown Sugar to increase Microbes?

I am preparing some used tea mixed in with water and brown sugar into create an attractive paste I can put into the soil to increase my soil microbe and community and I'm wondering if this will work and if I can add other amendments before I place it in my soil?

The goal is to put it on the outer borders away from my seedlings so that this is just feeding the microbes.

But could I use this also to increase nitrogen?IMG_20220320_004047.jpg

A for effort. But no stick to the basics and don’t reinvent the wheel.

How to create an ant farm for $200 Alex ?
There aren't any ants in here.

I haven't seen an ant since I've lived here.

I have diamectous Earth just in case.

Besides I've already found out from other users on here that it works just fine.

Brown sugar, molasses, coffee grounds, tea grounds will all feed the soil microbes.

That's all I was trying to accomplish.

Thanks though.☮️

If you already know why not just do it and create a thread about your results instead of asking.

Probably because this is an organic thread and I like to confer with other people?
ok that’s great. Let me just give you a better tip to microbe health.

imo the best and easiest way to boost the herd is too dress with malted barley freshly ground. Then some castings overtop the barley.

a basic compost tea is also a good thought.
compost, molasses and water with air. This will boost your bacterial and the prior method will boost your fungal.

this slurry you have going would never get close to my garden. Your playing with fire and I can see no benefit from this idea you have. Although it looks like the start to some killer bbq sauce.

It's just tea and brown sugar.

Already have Earth worm castings in my soil.
I'll grab some malted barley. ☮️

Well there's quite a few videos on YouTube and there's quite a few threads here that talk about molasses and or brown sugar.

I realize unsulfured molasses would be better but I know for certain that brown sugar has enough molasses to help.

It's another thing that microbes like.

And it's just sitting in my kitchen and I hardly ever use it so I figured it would be good to add.

There is some bad older info out there about using rather large amounts of molasses to increase microbial populations, the old "standard" was 1 T per gallon, with some people going even higher. This practice has mostly fallen out of favor, it's just way too much sugar and all it does is cause bacterial blooms that can crash the PH in your root zone. Think of sugars as "junk food" for soils. You are on track with wanting to feed your soil though, but a much better option is seaweed extract-a reasonable amount of the common liquid seaweed extracts out there are 2-4 ml per gallon-some brands are more concentrated than others. Yucca extract is another great carbon source for your microbes, and also acts as a wetting agent, so you get several benefits from one product.

A couple potatoes, leaf mold, bucket of water. Collect your own microbes and water with that. You'll introduce plenty of microbes. You don't need to feed them molasses. They'll feed off of decomposing organic matter. Molasses is overrated the same way calmag has been for years.

He is fortifying it with brown sugar

I need to feed the existing Microbes, more importantly.☮️
