Neil Young makes a stand against misinformation

Is “moronic” or “disingenuous” too strong?

I get injinji’s point and agree but I think you’re being too hard on yourself.
moronic might be considered another archaic trope. A working associate I knew had a daughter afflicted with downs. She was a real charmer and there was a lot of love between father and daughter. I never would have used that word around him. Also, I'm too much a person of my time. I grew up with that shit and it's stuck in my head. I got careless this morning. I'm not fretting over it, just recognizing I could use some help to replace those old insults with better ones. The goal is to insult the trumper leavened with humor and without using their shitty vocabulary.

Dozens of Joe Rogan podcast episodes pulled from Spotify
More than 70 episodes were taken off the platform with no acknowledgement from Rogan or Spotify on the matter, CNET reported.
All the episodes that were removed were from years ago as Rogan has had his podcast for more than a decade.

Rogan recently released an almost five-minute video addressing resurfaced, years-old videos of podcast episodes where he used racial slurs and a comment about the "Planet of the Apes" movie.

Rogan said a compilation video was made of him saying racial slurs that he is deeply remorseful about. He said he never used the word to offend everyone and previously thought if it was used in context when talking about an issue it was OK.

"There's nothing I can do to take that back. I wish I could. Obviously, that's not possible," Rogan stated. "I certainly wasn't trying to be racist, and I certainly would never want to offend someone for entertainment with something as stupid as racism."

“I never used it to be racist because I’m not racist,” Rogan said, adding he “hasn’t said that word in years” and learned it “is not my word to use.”
He addressed another clip in which he told a story on his podcast about him being dropped off in a Black neighborhood and comparing the area to the "Planet of the Apes" movie.

“I did not nor would I ever say that Black people are apes but it sure f---ing sounded like that,” Rogan said.
The videos from the old podcast episodes resurfaced after some artists began boycotting Rogan for having anti-COVID-19 vaccine individuals on his podcast.

I'll try this one on our pet Trumper to see if it gets a reaction.

@farmerjoe420 is scum sucking shit eating swamp penis who lives and fucks in a pond filled with his own scum sucking relatives.

I'm probably bordering on unfairly using adjectives that border on poking fun at the unfortunate children of hillbillies born with genetic defects due to inbreeding. Maybe "farmer" joe would be insulted by that. If so, he has my apologies in advance.

that made me a little sad for you...just stick to your own idiom and apologize later, we all know you don't mean it "that way"..... :)

Dude, I'm not feeling remorse. I'm up to the challenge -- that's how I see it. Unlike swamp dwelling syphilitic penis sucking shit eating @farmerjoe420 (has anybody asked if his heritage includes inbreeding?), I'm able to communicate without descending into tropes that degrade bystanders for no good reason. I just don't always manage it.

We need some humor in there, though.
Humour, eh?
Apropos nothing much, the other day a gay friend called to see my cat, a Wedgie, who had lost an eye a few days earlier and my Sandy Claws just decided he needed to rip up the the arm of the couch a bit more and when he does that I berate him by calling him 'a little pup' (it's an Irish thing, don'cha know?) but to my chagrin, what came out was 'agh, you fucking little poof'.

And then, to cover my ass (ooops! lol) I started repeating the word 'pup' as idiots do...

Luckily his hearing is no better than my own...

That part of your rant is not cool. Stuttering is genetic.

B.B. stuttered from the time he was a child.

David Shirley, while in grade school King attended the lively Pentecostal church services, and it was there that he discovered he had a special gift for music. People were amazed that he could sing so beautifully without stuttering.

“I struggle with words. Never could express myself the way I wanted. My mind fights my mouth, and thoughts get stuck in my throat. Sometimes they stay stuck for seconds or even minutes. As a child, I stuttered. What was inside couldn’t get out. I’m still not real fluent. I don’t know a lot of good words. If I were wrongfully accused of a crime, I’d have a tough time explaining my innocence. I’d stammer and stumble and choke up until the judge would throw me in jail. Words aren’t my friends. Music is. Sounds, notes, rhythms. I talk through music.”

King faced the typical difficulties faced by many children who stutter. However, he had role models who stuttered. His Uncle Major was a severe stutterer and King wrote of him, “Probably because I stuttered too, the way he suffered with his speech broke my heart and made me love him even more. There was a silent bond between us. Unlike others, I could feel what he wanted to say and sometimes said it for him.”

His great-grandfather, Pop Davidson, who had been a slave, was a major influence on King’s life and also stuttered. King’s admiration for his great-grandfather helped him accept his own stuttering. “Sometimes I wondered about Pop’s stuttering, which unlike Uncle Major’s, frustrated him like crazy; I wondered if a speech impediment has to do with a boiled-up fury inside. Why did I stutter? Classmates were cruel and called me stupid, teasing me something fierce. But I never saw anyone tease Pop Davidson.”

Countless times in his life, King has stated that singing was always easier than speaking. He claims that his stuttering has decreased over the years but is always there.

Mel Tillis stuttered too, as a result of contracting malaria as a child

1st off, Neil is my man.
If I was in a rowboat with Lennon/Dylan & Young & only had room for 2, bye John/Bob, hope ya can swim :) )
Young talked about stuff in the 60's such as conservation which is proven to be more relevant today than then
He was really one of the 1st musicians to bring protest music mainstream, pointing out some of a few things wrong with the US, like it's inherent racism & war mongering.
Joe Rogan was a dick, is a dick & always will be a dick & lot's & lot's of dick's love him, like 13 million fucking dicks
He's playing to TrumpTards.
Why not, there's enough of them.

Anyway, what the fuck is this?
A Neil Young thread with no Neil Young?
What the fucK!!!
Let's go (cool opening act :) )

Isn't cancel culture just another 'face' of neo fascism that's allowing our youth to censor and castrate people that pose various opinions to what's accepted as current? Bill Maher has done a great job speaking out against it. This chain of events in our unforgiving society will create an entire world of people that think all of the same things and adhere to a political correctness erected with fierce boundaries propagating unrealistic ideals that fall far short of reality. The end result will be a collective conscious that's heavily edited and the one percent will rule based on co-operation of the lower class in raising the standard of service for them to drink their morning lattés in a deeper, quieter peace. Disagreement is crucial to our survival as a species. In simple? Don't cancel or edit what people should say or do. Let them make their own mistakes and be who they are. If you don't like it don't watch/listen. All of this disagreement in this thread, I don't know. That's what I think.

You are right. There was much wrong with my post in terms of non-pc language. I'm not being ironic, I was wrong and understand why.

A word challenge to the forum. What is the best way to accurately but humorously characterize the debased humans who come here to troll without using archaic, hurtful and wrong adjectives? I would like to string five or six adjectives together without using harmful tropes from the past.
It's really hard, I haven't been able to come up with one. Incel makes me laugh, but it just doesn't flow well.

it can be, and it can also be an effective tool to make societal changes. the difference is how, and why, it is used...
some people are spiteful, and are the first ones to gather wood to burn books. they will jump on any bandwagon, if it looks like someone is getting punished, and usually don't even bother to make themselves aware of more than headlines.
then there are those that can recognize truly toxic behavior, and use boycotting and embarrassment to stop it's distribution. they aren't doing it because it makes them feel better about their lives, they're doing it to make everyone's lives better. if enough people get called out for a behavior, people will stop using that behavior in public. that not only stops that person or organization from doing something truly bad, it stops people from becoming desensitized to that kind of behavior. if people had started calling out politicians involved in anything legally or ethically questionable years ago, we wouldn't be where we are today
