now how is this any different from Trumps idea of dropping explosive into a hurricane? he was ripped off, man..first vaxx and now this.

Happy Thanksgiving to all:hug:

It launched from Vandenberg Space Force base so I’m sure the former guy will find some way to claim credit…

i dunno i'm the acronym queen here and you've left no citation sooooooo:wink:

yes, yes, i can read my own article..I Am Woman hear me apologize.

Maybe we can get the former guy to mansplain it for you. His frequent use of superlatives like “beautiful” “tremendous” “powerful” (followed immediately by “very powerful, extremely powerful, strong and tremendously powerful”) will certainly help clarify the acronym and the science behind redirecting asteroids.

Actually, now I’m getting a bit upset just picturing him talking about his tremendously powerful Space Force. Might be about time to medicate.

too soon? i know..medicate then visit the Biden thread where many of his accomplishments have been posted and let it wash away.

remember..you no longer have the anxiety of what he's done overnight and can sleep much sounder- we all can.

He wanted to drop a nuclear bomb into the eye of a hurricane, most of which are far wider than the bomb's area of effect, leaving a massive low pressure system to spread radiation for millions of square miles afterward.

DART is a small, scalable out of orbit mission to determine the long term effects of kinetic energy on an asteroids trajectory. There's literally a world of difference

This. There is science here leading to engineering that just might keep a really large impact from ruining our millennium.

The other was the world’s most spoiled kid with a really big bottle rocket.

has anyone experimented with explosives on a small scale to disrupt say a typhoon which ultimately leads to tsunami wave? when it's out in waters that would effect no one?

Its been theorized about for 70 years.

....an article by hurricane researchers at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) debunks that idea. They wrote that it's impossible to disrupt a hurricane with a nuclear bomb, since we don't have powerful enough bombs and because the explosives wouldn't shift the surrounding air pressure for more than a split second.

Waves go right through each other. And since nukes (only thing big enough) kick in all directions, more harm than good.
