smooth move.

don't make any promises to the wee people for Christmas (or whatever you celebrate) this year..this goes way past bacon shortage..apparently truckers are to blame @blu3bird. unfortunately truckers have to haul empty for $0 until they pick-up container at the dock; this can take all day and all night.

trucking is not to blame.

Wages increase inflation and the right will blame the Democratic Party for inflation ignoring wage increases that supposedly “lifts all boats “
I just took some different work close to home a couple months ago and it pays damn near double. Making nearly $2k a week now banging together track homes

Companies are so in need of good workers right now the pay is incredible, at least in construction right now. Gold rush times

Trucking is in need of drivers too, always has been though. No bullshit, I've seen companies offering $20K sign on bonuses right now

More like weeks waiting for a container lol. I stay in touch with a driver that used to work for my company, she went team driving with her husband at another company, they have been waiting out in Ontario, California for 2 weeks to pick up a container from the docks in L.A. She says it's a nightmare out there.

I don't run empty though, no ma'am

I'm in Newton, Iowa right now on a relay run, heading back home to Michigan with 36,000 lbs of Gala apples from Yakima, WA
Here's the BOL

Here's the reefer I'm pulling, one of our brand new 2021 trailers. Except the bill says to run at 34° constant, but the driver I picked this up from didn't top off the reefer fuel tank for me so I set it to start/stop cycle to conserve fuel until I stop in about 45 more miles and refuel

These trailers look so nice, boss ordered them with light kits. They look awesome at night with all the LED lights

from what i've read/heard (no citation you'll have to believe me) is that they issue like 40k licenses every year but it's a tough life and hard to keep a good quality trucker..the waiting around empty with no pay doesn't help sell the job.

Truckers really give all of themselves more than i ever knew.

for the trucker:

you are our life's blood:hug: next time you want to cut them off at a roundabout- give them the right of way.

please no more pee bottles.

Banking and finance are also experiencing that. Got a new job recently and man they are desperate for people at all different skill levels.

all work has usefulness and is not interchangeable as John Deere joust found out..anyone working 40 should have a minimum subsidized to include the basics if management doesn't. thinking you can jump into anyones job is fool-hardy.

I think that is a good thing to do, only hang-up is that federal regulations say you have to be 21 to drive a CMV interstate. Also, under 21 can't haul freight that originated out of state or is heading out of state, until then they could get experience driving local though

That would've been pretty damn sweet when I was in high school to be able to take a CDL class

But next we need to get Pete B to figure out a way to get trucks more parking spaces, as it is right now, there is only 1 spot for every 11 trucks out here.

It's always a fun time getting into a truck stop or rest area to park lol

I get a large coffee every morning and save the cup for emergency piss. That way I can dump it IN THE GRASS NOT ON THE PAVEMENT where people get their dogs out or have to walk, then I can just throw the cup away IN A TRASH CAN when I'm done, if don't use the cup I can just throw it away at the end of the day when I get back to the yard.

I don't keep no nasty piss jugs in my truck!
