Coco Loco

Hi Frank,
I had a discussion with a coco loco user who says it's a great mix with nearly all you need for a successful grow. They use only mycorrhiza and water, feeds a little kelp during bloom. Their warning was over feeding causes nasty taste and harshness.

Never used it but my cousin does, he likes it for his mother plants, doesn't dry out as fast as coco. You treat it more like normal potting soil than coco.

What do they use,if anything, to go with it? Should I not use Megacrop or cal mag???

I have the same bag. I used it in my first grow and over fed.. I can at least vouch for what @Rurumo stated here lol it was bad :eyesmoke: I have been using it as a seedling starter, and transplanting into OF and no problems since. I will try a full grow with it tho. I have 2 clones going now. I can do one of each for a comparison grow.
How did you overfeed

I’m using it for the first time on my current run. Currently have 36 plants in 5 gallon bags in week 4 and only just started feeding them at 25% strength. Plan was not to feed anything until I started noticing first signs of deficiencies which started showing up this week.

I water every 3-5 days treating it like soil rather than straight coco. Only additives used thus far are GH rapid start for the first few weeks (stopped last week) and have/will use GH CaliMagic and Botnicare Liquid Karma from start to finish.

I’m growing 5 plants in Happy Frog alongside it to compare. I have been treating both mediums exactly the same. Plants can’t seem to tell the difference between it and HF so far. Both hold water the same. We’ll see what happens come flower time.

Hi all.

I'm starting a Blue Dream clone grow in 2/3 Coco Loco and 1/3 FF Ocean Forest. Anyone have any updates?
You should be alright. Just water. Don’t bother ph’ing or checking for that matter. I’m assuming the clone was rooted.

I've used it many times. I like it but not as much as say a roots organic original potting soil.
The plants seem to like water only for 3-4 weeks max and then they need feeding.
I've also seen some mushrooms sprout out from it.

At the time (before Monsanto had bought General Hydroponics) I was using their 3 part, cal-mag, silica, florablend and organic compost with great success.
Most common deficiencies before adding anything were Magnesium and Calcium so they will want that Calmag.
Have you used the megacrop successfully before? My plants didn't seem to like the two part. I always kept EC around 0.8 - 1 for large mature plants. Highest I ever went at the end was 1.2 or 840 PPM (Truncheon). Will try to help anyway I can if you don't have your formula down.
Are you still in veg? All I know is the megacrop is tricky for many and they changed the contents many times so I don't know what you're working with.

Autos... I've got another bag of Coco Loco and I'm gonna mix it with a good soil if I can find one... Maybe something from Fox Farms... Man... These plants look bad... But they're still growing, so that's a good thing...20210315_011857.jpg20210315_011853.jpg20210315_011841.jpg20210315_012808.jpg

Damn, I'm sorry. You're in a sprint right now. I would feed synthetically tonight or tomorrow with that megacrop plus calcium without over doing it. If you get the feed right they'll hold on!

Seeing that they are this far along, how much should I mix of each to feed 7 plants???

The first Megacrop was the best

I would still feed a solution under 0.8 EC / 560 PPM (truncheon). This is tricky if you don't have a meter to test this. Do you have the first all in one megacrop? If it's the all in one powder I would suggest to start with that and dose with half of their recommendation. The one part only powder should have decent calcium and magnesium already right?
