Fungus gnats in coco

I have been reading up on coco. Maybe next grow From what I read no bugs except gnats Heard sand at top of medium helps n yellow sticky strips Then I seen this item but thought maybe the light may HERM plants. Any thoughts. Any experience D73052DD-2FFE-4E33-A87A-84F379877FAA.png

Capturing the adult flying gnats is easy enough however you do it.

For killing them in the coco I use mosquito dunks. Crumbled and crushed up then added to the top of my coco pots. Top feeding spreads the bacteria thru the coco.

Unfortunately, the dunk prices are out-effin-rageous for Canada.

I buy six packs at homey depot for $10 US.

Has anyone tried sand at top of medium or is that less efficent. And is gnats a very common thing with coco grows ?

What recite ratios for this product to coco ? And this product doesn’t mess with ppm or ph levels ?
Fungus gnat infestation is usually attributed to watering problems. Please share more details of your grow environment such as medium and watering schedule, lights, genetics

I don’t have gnats Iam in soil and just researching coco since seems like better medium. I was just curious if gnats are common amongst coco growers

I've never seen these legendary fungus gnats in coco, and I've used at least 4 brands. What brand are you guys using that has them?
Can you recommend and brand of coco that’s not in brick form. For my first coco attempt I want to keep easy. I was think cana coco and there A B nute line to keep it simple

The whole reason I switched to coco 6 years ago was because of fungus gnats, I could slow them down fine but never completely killed them off until the switch. I've never had a single one since switching, I didn't even know it was possible in coco.
