New Prune Technique

has anyone ever pruned the top fan leaves on their grow shoots so there's more penetration deeper into the plants for the buds to grow further down each stalk? doesn't this make more sense than cutting the bottom ones? what about pruning the very bottom fan leaves for better air circulation lollipoping the small grow shoots at the bottom and pruning the fan leaves at the top?(after LST and FIMming)

I personally keep as many fan leafs as I can. Sometimes its neccessary to prune a bit to prevent budrot but thats only time I cut them. If light penetration is a problem id reccomend tucking the leafs instead of cutting them off. The fan leafs are like solar panels for your plant, it doesnt make sence to dispose of them.

good luck mate <3

ohh yea, cutting off the fan leaves is in no way shape or form a "new prune technique". thanks for getting me all excited for nothing.

what the fuck is pruning douchebag? it's just a different method than lollipoping or trimming the bottom fan leaves

unless you have limited space - don't cut anything off, leave them alone or face stress related problems.
and even if you do have limited space, use LST where possible.
And I tuck my fan leaves under my buds for more light, never had one snap yet.

lol @ people getting excited over this thread title, and then being let down with the lack of innovative content...

epic disappointment.

I've been "tucking" this go 'round and I don't see the difference between doing this or simply removing the leave. The tucked leaves turn yellow and die in a few days anyway (from lack of light?) so what's the point? It seems it'd stress the plant either way, with removal being the less intrusive . . . if a grower can't just leave them be, as nature no doubt intended.

Yes, I understand that the plant is draining the tucked leaves nutrients.

Not a single leaf i've tucked as opposed to removing has ever turned yellow and died.

It just wont get as much light as it did before... it's a plant.. no rocket science.

thankyou, tucked leaves die anyway and the plant wastes energy trying to keep it alive

are you talkin about me? i've searched this website for identical threads and since i didn't see anyone else whose tried this i figured i'd throw it out there. secondly, i've listened to that people have to say but there is no supporting evidence for their claims. why the fuck would i assume something's true just because you said it?

why ask questions if you're assuming the responses will be untrue? wouldn't it save you the hassle to do your own research rather than asking people to talk about the things they've identified to be true?

isnt that why you joined this site; to get grow advice from more experienced growers??? why such hostility when they answer in ways that you dont like?? ever consider that you could be wrong?? happens to the best of us, everyday... just sayin:?

Because i use people's opinion when they explain there reasoning behind it and their reasoning is sound. ANd because people(collectively not the people like you two criticizing new ideas) have more experience with what works probably much more than researchers. I've read ed rosenthal, i've done research. dont write back unless you have a different suggestion than any of the ones proposed, if you dont, you can stop writing to me
