Should Trump pardon Assange ?
He isnt a US citizen so has not done anything wrong. Did not even live in the US.
He should never have been arrested.
Whistle blowers are always despised and discredited, punished etc by the establishment.

He wont be granted a fair trial due to the simple fact he broke no law that applied to him.

Helping Trump get elected was a bad, bad thing though. Lots of Americans may be alive today if he hadn't of done that.

remember when the republicans thought that 3 Americans deaths in Libya made her unelectable?....However trump killing 300,000+ is no big deal. :o
I remember "weapons of mass destruction" being used as a pretense to invade and destroy a country. Hillary and Biden both voted for that invasion.

I don't like Trump, but I'm glad he didn't try to start more wars. He's practically a Dennis Rodman when it comes to diplomacy!

Someone needs to actually have been convicted of a federal crime to be eligible for a presidential pardon.

He can't just pardon people for crimes they have yet to go to trial for, or for crimes that havn't occured yet ... as much as I'm sure he would love to be able to pardon his family for the future crimes they're going to commit.

Trump definitely wants to pardon Assange because Assange was a critical link between the Trump campaign and the Russian agents who helped the Trump campaign in 2016. If Trump does pardon Assange, it puts a spotlight back on the collusion between Putin's agent's and Trump's agents which Trump and Putin both want to disappear from the public's memory.

It's also possible pardoning Assange could be a humane thing to do. I'm not so sure Trump wants to pardon Assange though, since being a politician requires some rejection of being humane.

Humane? He and the rest of Putin's agents need to pay a price for fucking with American democracy. They got away with it in 2016 and now America needs to set an example to deter that kind of thing in the future. It's going to be interesting when Trump partisans can no longer control the release of the evidence of their misdeeds. That's why authoritarians fight to keep power. They want to prevent the truth from coming out. And the truth is that Assange needs to publicly pay a price for fucking with America on behalf of Vladimir Putin. Law and order. Crime and punishment. All very humane.

Is the truth also that the USA invaded a country under false pretenses, murdered civilians and when that was exposed (by Assange) there was a concerted effort to silence him and anyone else that might expose war crimes ?

I get that you don't like Trump, I don't either, but for a minute if you could stop stroking your Trump hate boner and ponder the question above that would be swell.
