I personally like it. If it every gets flimsy or its time to put it in an armoire or fridge, you'll have have everything you need from it.
I too have been vegging in a "temporary" cardboard box. It's in storage, amongst dinnerware and Christmas decorations . It's supplying a wardrobe grow, so it's plenty big for my needs. Being in a cool and stable room is a huge benefit. I have been too busy to rebuild my veg dresser, but this stealth cardboard box has been fine.
I have an ionic air filter to cover smell. It's plenty, got a radon fan down there anyway, 24/7 air exchange in the basement.
A great environment for a poorly ventilated box!
Keeping my stuff disguised in storage is how I like it anyway. No tents or rooms.
The nieces and nephews never venture down there. It's all boring stuff, and they aren't allowed down there anyway. Win win.
Only problem in several months was the furnace was out for two days, and some clones died.
I kinda take pride in my veg box. It's partially obscured by an old rolling chair for added effect, a "line of sight" trick. Even the nutrients are simply 30° out of view.
The chair blocks my light leaks and nutrients.
