Re using canna coco for a second time round and rinsed it well.. Only in small pots for the seedling stage, they are now about 5 days from sprouting out the coco and 7 days from germination and a inch tall.. All looking very healthy but getting worried as I didn't buffer it anyone ever done this ? Will obviously bufffer before I re pot them into finishing pots but curious..

my run off ph is slightly higher I think around 6.3-6.5 ive been putting in around 5.8-6 I’ve run them through twice and got a little lower run off each time ec is good 450-500 about the same out that goes in will run them through again today just worried about cation sites fingers crossed I guess have 5 bcn xxl auto and 1 free stardawg feminised

How do you mean top dress some buffers ? Im thinking I should just buffer all my coco now and re pot ASAP avoid any stress as roots are starting to take off 1 root has popped out the bottom of the pot already

I didn't buffer my Canna coco fresh out of the bag. Looking back on it now I probably should have. I've never reused coco but I'd think you should be ok, at least until they are ready to up pot. Buffer the coco you are moving into if you'd like and then you'll be ready to go when it's time to transplant.

I just started a BCN Critical XXL auto as well, 17 days in from planting the seed in coco. Would love to see your progress along the way.

i Had 9 bcn xxl autos earlier this year got off to a awful start never got the ph or ec right, totally forgot about all that then over feeding to early because I buffered so well lol when I got the hang of it and got all the right equipment they took off amazing after such a slow crappy start they recovered really well but had to pull them down early and throw away, kept one going in the window the midget one had about an ounce off it wasn’t the best but this time round think I’m all set fingers crossed can have some success, will keep the post updated

This is my BCN 13 days from breaking ground.

Started with 0.4 EC like you did. Slowly worked up to the current 1.3 EC feed they got this morning. Was feeding twice daily in the small starter pots. Feeding once now in the 3 gallon cloth pots with 1/4 gallon feed each morning per plant. Had some early leaf curl which I think was a lack of calcium. As I had said I didn't buffer the Canna (thought I would be good, but my tap water is almost RO quality at 36 ppm). Started adding CAliMAGic with my feed and they seem to be improving. Good luck, hope we both have great plants on our hands!

I just meant apply some Dolamite lime, azomite, oyster shells or anything that acts as a buffer or means of stabilizing grow medium ph when consistently feeding acidic nutrients, as said nutrients will inherently build up and cause medium ph to drift lower and lower over time.

I expect it'll be down to your water supply and nutrients, myself and a bunch of other members don't use calmag with coco, I thought canna coco was already buffered?
I pot them and feed them a+b nutrient nothing more.

Water is good generally I just question what nutrients are actually in it.. sounds like an experimental thing to try down the line.. I had a slight overwater problem yesterday two of them drooped so ripped them out put them in basket type pots and got the extractor on made a quick recovery overnight.
