Buyer Beware: True North Seedbank

I put in an order on the 14th, a big one but with the discount not a lot of $$.

I will assume it is coming. eventually. I just shake my head and laugh as the service level is so low a business like this would fail in a week if it actually competed in a fully legal market.

Ive called a few times, sure they may be busy but 30 minutes of their recorded message...designed specifically to sound like they are picking up the phone when they in fact are not, also speaks volumes. I can imagine how many orders they lose as people hang up.

I sense they only work a few days a week and i have no idea or real care wtf they do all day besides pick out the packs i ordered and ship them.

Guessing theres maybe 5 people at this company total, and they work Thursday Friday and Saturday.

As the USA legalizes state by state and soon federally, this b.s. will finally be over.

Until then they will run this industry like the shady gray market it is.

My strategy like most things is have multiple options...so if they come, great if not, well F U 2 True North.

I have no doubt the sale bottlenecked things...but when you have a sale like that you normally plan for it. Anyway, my rating for TNSB is LOL, ar least so far.

Ill post again if and when they show.
Everything I thought before I still believe. I did receive the seeds, the order was correct -1 freebie and especially with the huge discount I dont really care about something I didnt want to buy in the first place.

It took forever, and the communication was very, very slow. So if you do what I did and dont care how it goes down...in the end I got exactly what i ordered.

Nice breeder packs, I pulled one seed from 5 different packs and all 5 germinated within 4 days. They are all doing well still.

I will update as results come eventually but for now I can say it appears what they sent is what I ordered and it is germinating well. Service was turtle like and painfully difficult to get, but the price was so good it was easily worth it unless they turn out to not be fem seeds.

One of mine was in stock for the 3 weeks that went by before they finally processed my order, they had me pick an alternate which worked out fine...but that was 1 out of 6, not 3 of 4. Hopefully you got some good subs.

Place is a joke I have been going three speedman and literally I have not had a complaint on my end. At one point speeds came crushed due to shipping they reimbursed me. And gave me loyalty points they are the spot to go to and they have a monster selection

My bud likes True North, but he prefers Attitude.

No complaints on either, except it takes a few weeks from both to receive.

Ive only placed a few different orders at a few places, but i have researched most options and in the end, there are many ways to get quality seeds, but there are no ways to get a huge selection of options deliverable in a few days. A couple places are fast ship but have limited selections, then all the bigger shops, mostly overseas, have huge menus but take a month to get it to you.

Im OK with this, but its vey important for people to know that getting seeds should be planned for about 2 months before starting to insure you arent waiting!

I have no affiliation with the company but I'm sure they were overloaded with orders on Feb.14. I would think the logjam would be clearing. I was on hold and finally just ordered online. Received the order the next Friday. I hope things work out in your favor.
Yeah my order came March 2. Anyone who doesnt shop for and plan out genetics well in advance is an idiot.

I am In Ontario we just walk into true north seed bank it is on most indigenous reserves along with the bud. And I agree with order in advance but when they don't germ they did not germinate
Yeah, not sure what to say about that. Maybe seeds were shipped during extreme heat or cold? Between myself and a friend we are at 100% success between 3 different orders (about a dozen beans total, many different strains)

How long does it take from when you walk in until you leave to buy a few packs? Curious about the in person experience

Right now the reserves are closed to the public boo.
But always call ahead first they are not always open. But it takes as long as you take to pick your strains one really good strain is " oh god " because that's what you say after smoking it

So to summarize (and feel free to correct this so we can give good advice)-

TNSB has multuple locations in Canada on Native reservations. The locations act as a drop shipper for a larger seedbank elsewhere, and they also grow for their own distribution in on site Native dispensaries.

Canuk seeds is their own brand, and under that label they sell seeds and various forms of flower. They also sell flower and types of concentrate from the major breeders (? confirm ?)

Like many seed stores they have specials and discounts. Service is friendly on the phone but can take a very long time to get through. I can attest to multiple calls that each took 20+ min on hold. Emails take days or a week to get answers.

Shipping is anywhere from 2 to 5 weeks depending upon how fast orders are processed.

Payment is difficult like most seed stores due to legal issues and payment processors not wanting to be involved.

Locals can go into these stores and avoid most of the issues I describe above that are slow or inconvenient.

Quality seems overall to be decent to good for breeder packed seeds, many good experiences but also many where germination did not happen. Many complaints question not only the quality but the very genetics -- claims they did not receive the right strain or fem seeds. These stories can not be discounted.

Canuk quality in many cases seems to be a big issue. Hard to discern if this is a stock issue or an age issue -- can a local who has bought Canuk seeds in person comment on Canuk quality?

--- end of draft --

I think canuk seeds is only 1 of many seed banks true north seeds use. They are only middle people. I have not had long waits for true north seeds.com as one main distribution is from Toronto I am only 3 hours away. True north has locations on the reserves as the indigenous people have seemed to take over the cannabis industry in Ontario since legalization of cannabis in canada. True north does not sell flower just seed but there is 50 dispenseries on a reserve within 1 km of each other. Aldervill first Nations is the reserve I use great people all around. MasterCard refuses to deal with cannabis purchase as a prescribed user they deny my constitutional rights along with many others. For germination one user might have got it right extream cold will not hurt seeds as they freeze over winter but the last few years Canada has been hotter then Jamaica in summer from 30c to 42c ( 86f to 107.6f ) in a shipping truck it be much hotter or they where seeds that sat around too long. Tnsb always has canuk seeds 50% off why is this? I hope I helped with all q&a

Very helpful! This info helps estabish who they are to many who don't know.

It is incredible that the entire country has legalized it yet mastercard still wont deal?

How do you decide amongst the dispensaries if you go to any? Also curious what prices are like? Not important per se but what does a dispensary charge for an oz of flower?

Where I am dispensaries are very tightly regulated to the point where dispensaries are about 2x the black market

Prices are different I buy my ounce for 100cad=71.88 Wich is good stuff (eg. Bruce Banner, green crack, big bud, pink tuna) then you have stuff that goes for 400cad= 257.83 per ounce so let's say from $5 a gram to $15 cad. If you think Canada legalizing it is funny you should see the 80 and 90 year olds buying bud there was more of them buying it then younger generations lol. They also carry edibles and more. When covid19 is over I might have to open a pot shop tour service for all the Americans who suffer from unfair laws. Canada was founded on cannabis, settlers where given farm land to grow it by the British. It was used to make the sails of the ships, uniforms for soldiers rope and so much more. If they did not grow enough to make the quota the land was given to someone else that could.
