First time grower, is it time for flowering?

Man, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you have problems galore. I don't want to hijack OPs thread completely, so if you want some pointers PM me
I’d actually like to know what’s wrong with this set up too, so you mind posting your reply here

Well with your permission then!

First off, that plant is super stretchy. I'm guessing not enough light. Would need a full rundown of the setup to be sure.

Second, I wouldn't recommend SCROG for autos at all. Not enough control over the plant. And there wasn't enough training to fill that net out. Plus if there was, his little plants wouldn't get any light. The trellis is fine to use as a support, but based off his question of "is it too late" I get the feeling he was trying for a true SCROG, which isn't happening.

And finally, that little plant is full on budding. It wasn't up-potted soon enough. The taproot probably bottomed out and it thought it was time to reproduce. I'd just toss it and start over. It will probably produce a gram of weed at best.

Oh, and there's not enough soil in those pots. They should be filled pretty much to the top.

And he needs a fan in there, looks like there's not enough air movement, which contributed to his spindly plant.

It’s not perfect but it works.
I have 9 foot ceiling so I have some space. Going into flowering today so expecting plant to double. Any tips?

P.S I buried the stems since that photo.

Gentlemencorpse mentioned the tap root...

Autos tend to REALLY focus on downward growth, in terms of their roots. Providing a tall pot, rather than wide, is paramount to achieving max yield on an auto flowering variety.

5gal buckets (looks like u got em) are pretty good in terms of height to width. 5gal is more soil than an auto really needs, but I've litterally never come across pots that are made taller than they are wide, in a 3gal size

Honestly it looks pretty good for a first time grow. I don't like the blurple lights and I'd suggest upgrading them eventually but they do work. Bud just ends up a little fluffier than I like. I used them for a couple grows then switched to a CMH myself.

Also not sure if you have a fan in there but that would be the only thing I'd suggest adding if you don't.

Other than that your off to a good start. Just keep reading, keep growing and keep an open mind.

I have a dyson heating and cooling fan in there and keep the temp around 80 F

I actually like 5 gallon for autos. These are two AK autos. Left is 3 gallon, right is 5, and it's nearly twice the size. Don't mind the droopy leaves, I let her dry out completely because I'm at war with the fungus gnats.

I also bought grow bags and have a veg and flowering room with 3 1200W LEDS in each room.
fans and filters. These are my first plants so I put them in buckets but I prefer grow bags personally.
what should I do, I’ve topped the plant a couple times.

Perfect. Didn't see it in the pics so figured I'd mention it, but your solid.
Can I veg on 24 hours without autos

Absolutely. Part of why I was going to respond to that other guy elsewhere was so things didn't get too confusing in here, since he has autos and you don't. But yeah, plenty of folks go 24/0 throughout the veg cycle. I do 18/6 but largely just to save a few bucks on my electrical bill.

As far as what to add in flower, not much! Just reduce the amount of grow and root nutes (I actually don't use grow nutes at all. I find that between the soil and CalMag I get plenty of N) and up your Bloom nutes and you should be good to go.

So I have my dads notes and he’s been growing for fifty years.
