Saison is an old Belgian farmhouse-style that's about 20% Wheat & sometimes spiced with a bit of Coriander & perhaps a touch of orange peel/powder (if you want to err towards a Belgian Wit beer). But not always...

They're a simple beer to make, but the beauty/management comes from the yeast used to ferment them. It loves warm temperatures & throws some magnificent phenolics (read flavour & aromas). They're absolutely BEASTLY fermenters as long as you keep the temperatures up (perfect for summer).

If you want to try a good commercial example, search-out a bottle of Saison Dupont (about $15 for a 750ml bottle). It's my "end-of-work" beer when I finish doing my stuff at homebrew competitions.
I’ll have a look into it. Since I’m not a drinker beer doesn’t really interest me much. I’m into the spirits because of the science and engineering aspect. When I was studying engineering I was talking to a mate about how you can apply physics and calculus etc principles to home brew and he didn’t want a bar of it. Flat out told me I was wrong until I started showing him a few things.

m8. Given the awesome Whiskey and Gins coming out of the apple isle, I’m super pissed off at myself I didn’t pick up more when I was back there last year visiting family.

Was surprised at the number of vineyards now too. My uncle said the climate is like what the Barossa was years ago n that’s why?

If You're not a drinker, that's perfectly fine with me. Each to their own. I'm not much of a smoker. Maybe on a Friday night once a week, maybe once a fortnight....? 'Just depends how I'm feeling at the time. Music generally ensues..

For the record, I mix my spliffs with tobacco (I simply can't smoke the stuff straight - it makes me gag). I know that's going to irk some around here, but that's my idiom & I stand by my choice to do so. To everyone, please respect it as my choice.

Beer is my "thing" (not "alcohol"). The science behind it can be amazingly complicated, or it can just make itself - dead simple as planting a seed.

I was raised as a semi hippie. My parents chose that life style. One of the grounding things they taught me was... never judge another for their choice.

Heaps of my mates smoke spin. I prefer green the head spin really fucks me these days if I have tobacco. When I smoked ciggies I used have two bowls, one green one spin. Just to mix it up.
It’s a personal preference either way as long as your having fun.
I grind my weed no matter what I’m smoking. I cleary smoke heaps because pulling buds off would take for ever and do my head in.

I haven't pulled a bong in over 25 years & don't intend to start again any time soon.

I've got a chillum & have tried using it a few times, but it's always been a "No".

While we are sharing, n I love that within a community. I’m more of an extract edibles type these days. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the smoke taste of a nice haze, sativa, fruity hybrid or hashy indica. Mixing ciggies in is not me, never really smoked ciggies so I don’t like it.
