Today's strains compared to 80's-90's strains

Im a believer that when we all started smoking our tolerance was obviously lower and the timing of life affects our high. I started smoking as a young teen in the early 90's. I remember passing out and doing a full faceplant onto pavement when I was around 16. That was after sharing a joint of compressed, seeded brickweed with two friends. Aint no way that weed was near the strength of todays. But probably sativa, so you might be onto something.

Black hash with the KABUL stamp on a kilo (stamp itself was golden colored). That shit was afghani and excellent. Opiated black hash was the shit, if you had that you had lotsa "friends."

Primo Hash fits that description. Marbled grey with black opium and was stamped also. Not at all like non opium hashish.

Most of the weed from the early 80’s and 90’s came from South America and Mexico. It’s what the new generation call “Reggie” or “Dirt weed”. You either had a great plug with some lite green no to minimal seeds or you had that brown seeded up shit. Most of that shit was a Sativa that’ll light your ass on fire. Have your family calling 911 for you. Some was wack that wouldn’t do shit. Now the times have changed and I’ll say the weed is better because it’s suppose to be better like everything else.. But I do miss smoking on that Reggie them was the times!!!!

To me,the old weed is better because the high was more complex and had more depth to it

alot of weed nowadays just has a super potent boring high...especially the indicas

the stuff we were smoking 25-30 years ago may not have been as potent but the highs were amazing

I prefer those trippy,happy,giggly,euphoric old school highs over the sedative,shitface,almost prescription pill type downer high alot of the weed nowadays has

I'm about the same age and 1 retarded big bongs rip of some green compressed Mexican weed had me hearing a radio station playing. Ask my friends who is playing the radio and they all laugh. Was no radio on and I have no idea what I heard, lol.

You know, it is interesting what @hillbill brings up about the sativa. If I had to guess, Id say it was sativa dominant that I started smoking in the early 90's. Flat,compressed( seeds crushed kinda compressed)black seeds and stemmy. Just horrible. But it always got me paranoid and thats how I rated the high.The level of paranoia. I still do that to an extent. That weed was $25 an eight and stayed that price for over 20 years lol.

That highly compressed bud with crushed seed came right out of Jamaica trust me.there was very little weed coming from So-Central Amercia in the 90s, shit havent seen good lumbo since the 70s.Been all home grown since early 80s around these parts.

That old 1070 Mexican was Sativa dominant and in it’s uncompressed stAte had long narrow loose buds. A key would have pieces of stem like river cane and fan leaves and of course, seeds. Surprised there weren’t root balls.

It was actually a porcelain wizard bong, handed down to my buddy from his much older brother. We swore that thing had magical powers, but it was most likely the drugs!

I dont remember much ceramic in the 90s.Its called the 'Rocket' with 'theSlider'. Some old deadhead gave it to me.I winterized our barn and rediscovered it recently

I agree. But I think of those highs as more potent, because the affects were much better and lasted longer.

We used to get this super sticky Jamaican red bud.
