See that massive bud in the last photograph I posted. It’s the one in the very left hand corner of the picture. It had bud rot! I knew I should have put one more oscillating fan on that side above the screen like in the other corner. Oh well. I cut It off the plant and cut out all the rot and was able to salvage a lot. So it’s drying out now. My stash is growing!! Whoo Hooooo!!!!!!
So happy! I was getting sick of smoking pot shop shit. Time for some primo! I can’t believe i will finally be smoking her. What a trip.
Thanks for following along.

DAT,
I've had that happen...a single bud rotted. Just be glad it wasn't worse. Good looking buds!
JD
She was the biggest super super dense there was no where for airti flow...yes, Glad it was not worse.
Yeah it happens, especially with the super dense buds. They look impressive but come with the added potential of mold and rot. I have had it happen during the drying process as well in paper bags. So it’s important to really dig into those super dense buds and separate them for a peek to see inside and air them out ....or if going to dry cut them up into pieces.

Hey @Dr.Amber Trichome

I love your grow and your style!

I was wondering how that little dehuey you have is doing? I need a little one for my 4.5x4.5 and that same brand is my likely choice. Do you think I should go for the 500mL or the 1500mL version?

Thanks for any and all advice! Keep up the great work and have a very Happy Holidays! bongsmilie:peace:

edit: after reading this recent page it seems I should go for the 1500? :/ Sorry DAT crossing fingers for minimal loss!

She's Gorgeous Doc, congratulations. Have you had a chance to sample it yet?
Thanks! I found more bud rot on the other biggest bud!!! So I cut it off and could only salvage the top part. That rot exploded out of nowhere! I should have taken a picture and really regret not . So I’m very stressed out and concerned about the rest of the plant. I checked all the buds I could and poked into the middles and they look clear . I want to wait at least a few more days with a better flush now. I really haven’t gotten a decent flush done yet only 2 days now. I haven’t had a chance to yet to sample... I have some that might be ready tonight. Went and got ph down yesterday to help bring my R/o water ph down from 7.3 . Fingers crossed no more bud rot!!!

oh I'm sorry :( that wasn't the news I was hoping to hear. I've got my fingers cross that it's not that bad. Can you do some sort of extraction with the bud that has rot in it?

Thanks. My little dehumidifier does
Pull quite a bit and works. My tent humidity this entire Grow never exceeded 52%. The 1500ml sounds nice! Good luck with it, I hope it works wells for you.
Happy Holidays to you as well!

I went home
For lunch and checked on her and gave her some water. She is still drinking a lot. I had to feed her another gallon in just 15hours.
she looked good and I inspected all the biggest
Buds and all them others as well. So much to look at!
Those 2 that rotted on me were so rock hard dense. They were my most stressed buds . One was from my cracked branch and the other I pulled and stressed her out so much because she was a tough thick branch ...one of the main colas,,And she did not want to bend out of the way at all.

I don’t think I would scrog Northern Lights again.I would probably do the rest of the seeds I have in small coco pots.

Here are some pix of here today is her first day of a 9th week flowering.

it was a big loss for sure but thankfully I have a shit load more!!!! Then I can put away my tent and pretend like this nightmare never happened.

not many Amber Trichomes so still waiting to chop more at this point.

I have about 7 grams-of mixed dry/drying to keep me medicated until the majority is ready.

So glad to hear the rot was isolated to just two buds. That plant is insane, I’m dying to see your dry weight

Happy new year
I am so happy as well that it was an isolated issue!
That rot was frightening!! She continues to eat a lot of water and appears more sugary everyday. I ordered a new microscope because the one I have is driving me crazy it isn’t very consistent and I am having the dickens of a time figuring out what is going on. it’s arrives tomorrow so I can get a clearer picture of my trichomes.
It appears some of my dried buds have quite a bit of amber Trichomes but not so much on the wet ones kinda weird!
I was hoping to chop on Saturday at day 70 like you did. But I remember you said you wished you waited an extra week. What did you see in your scope on day 70 ?
And what made you wish you waited?
Happy New Year to you as well!

I‘m guessing I was seeing around 5% amber, the rest being cloudy. The high was really nice, not too heavy and it probably would have tasted better had I not messed up drying. You’ll love the digital scope it makes life so much easier. I just put it on the flower and start snapping lots of pics and I usually end up with at least a few pics that have what I need.
