upfront cost of the lights, everything else should be the same....moving forward he should be saving big on electricty on the lights, a/c running less etc...

running a room full of hps, one would need a/c and normally be running co2 and sealed. So same equipment after you buy the lights.
Yes i run 2 ac and in the summer i have a crazy ass electric bill

you are a commercial grower and you are worried about ventilation?
I dont know where you are located, but here they pull your licence for inadequate ventilation as its a health risk

if this is to be your bread and butter i wouldnt risk leds.
i have seen whole warehouses run fine with 2 -3 12 inch exhausts
Well i do a gorilla grow for my commercial farm. Its not legal brother

once you dial in a commercial strain on an ebb and flo table, you can pull 2g a watt routinely
I have never seen bunker bud pull 4lb on a 4x4 table under led but under hps you pull footballs
(now you know why we used to use 6x6 square nets ;) )

its not all about $$$

I grow AK47 feminized and get great results. Yes i would love to lst them instead of topping them. I also lolly pop them. Just haven't had the balls to try the lst

scrog isnt quite the same as lsting
but something you need to do if you want to maximize your yeilds and its even more important if you do go led

Been debating this for a few years now. Data shows LED at full spectrum while in flower is better then the HPS. Just wondering if any of you have done this yet. I am a commercial grower and need every square inch of my grow room to produce. Any real hands on data would be super appreciated
Yeah plenty have, there is a whole sub section for LED in indoor growing section.
Maybe have a look though here https://www.rollitup.org/t/do-people-actually-grow-cannabis-in-this-section.944412/

There should be some good examples and bad examples, maybe have a look on youtube too, check out greengenesgarden, im sure there are many many more great examples but im not really in to youtube.
Use the search bar and look for threads started by @lukio @Moflow @zypheruk , should see some quality product even if it isn't the scale your looking for.

Thanks man i will check that out. The price for a quality 2000w led is crazy. Just want to be 100% before i take that step

I've done the switch and have seen great results. Although I run CMH in between every LED panels but the combo is producing better results than HPS. I will not go back and plan on switching my other rooms to the same very soon.

I was not in it for costs savings, as a matter of fact I replaced the lights watt for watt so no saving in electricity but definitely in harvest weight and quality.

Well the heat is a huge issue and causes more electric for inline fans to run. For me i need the most bang for my buck at minimal cost
Actually I want the extra heat right now. I'm growing in a tent in an unheated garage and it stays a nice 75 degrees with the light on and I have an oil filled heater on a timer come on when the light goes off. When it gets hot in the summer I shut down inside and grow outside until it starts cooling down and then I finish the plants off inside. That's what I started doing and it worked out really good. I live in the Pacific Northwest not Arizona or someplace really hot so heat isn't an issue except for maybe a couple months out of the year.

On average I harvest 3 pounds every 70 days of AK-47. Each 1000 Watt HPS bulb produces 1 lb under its light coverage. I am now at a time where I need a double that that's why I was looking into the LED

Avoid anything that's called a "2000w led" if it isn't drawing what its named its not going to be great.
Avoid blurple lighting, stick with whites. Blurple will grow plants if you have a strong enough light, just most of them are made of the cheapest components.
Do your research on here or other forums, google will just send you round all the amazon traffic generating webpages designed to catch suckers with outdate technology.

How much more are you getting compared to hps

Imho you will gain the most by scroging you should really have an even canopy limited undergrowth and dial your distances.

He's using HLG 550s I think, if its double A.

You can definitely up your weight without spending any money though. Pretty sure you could be hitting 2lb per light with some tweaks using what you currently have.
